Fifty-one

New Year's eve for Krislene is a bit different this time. It's not just the five of them anymore, but their second family are also there to celebrate with them as well, and that's their friends. All of them are really happy to see her. Although some of them are new to her, but heck! Everyone is welcome into their family.

"Guys! Happy New Year! Let's fucking watch the fireworks outside!" Owen shouted in so much happiness and knowing Krislene? She's the first one to run outside of the house followed by their family and friends.

She may have gone matured at some point, but she's still a kid at heart most of the time. And this is one of those moments.

All of them are looking up at the night sky filled with colorful fireworks but there's someone who enjoys looking at Krislene's captivating smile rather than enjoy himself watching the fireworks.

Who else would it be?

It's none other than Dylan.

He's way beyond happy that Krislene fufilled her promise to him that they'll be celebrating new year together. Even though two years passed without her, still, Krislene did her very best to fulfil her promise. And that's what he is thankful about. Although they still have a gap between them, this will do for now. What is important for him is, Krislene is finally back.

"Okay! Let's get to the finale!" Vaughn shouted while he's readying himself to light up their own set of fireworks with the help of the two gago's, Owen and Alexander.

And as expected, Vaughn's encore is a blast. Talagang kung pagandahan, pabonggahan at pamahalan ng fireworks, walang tatalo kay Vaughn.

Everyone is happy and being noisy, mostly the gago's. Kung paingayan lang din naman, walang tatalo sa dalawang iyon. They also greet each and everybody a Happy New Year.

Krislene's gaze settled on her Sister who really looks happy right now while conversing with their friends. By just seeing her Sister like this, sobrang saya na rin nya. And she's proud of her Sister who overcame those challenge in her life that she went through. And she's thankful to everyone who surrounded her Sister in those years that she's not around. From their family, friends, and that person who owns a pair of blue eyes.

Speaking of him...

Her eyes sought for that person who owns a pair of blue eyes and when she finally saw him, he's alone and just looking up at the night sky filled with Vaughn's set of fireworks. But she noticed something from his smile.

It may be a genuine smile but his smile doesn't even reach his eyes.

She's contemplating weather she will go and talk to him or just look at him from afar. But before she could decide on what to do, she found herself walking towards him.

Lihim nalang syang napailing. Noon hanggang ngayon, hindi pa rin nya matiis ang lalaking nagmamay-ari ng kulay asul na mata. Ang lalaking sobrang espesyal sa kanya.

She stopped just two feet apart from him and took a deep breath before he called his attention.

"Dylan."

She saw Dylan got a bit surprised before looking at her, "L-Lene."

"Why are you here alone? Ayaw mo bang maki-mingle sa kanila?"

Dylan smiled, "Maybe later. You're here now."

At sya naman ngayon ang napakurap-kurap. "A-Are you perhaps, waiting for me?"

"For two and a half years, I keep on waiting for you. And now that you're here, I'm really happy. I'm glad that you fulfilled your promise."

Krislene looked up once again in the sky before she spoke, "Hindi kita matiis eh. I also promised so I want to fulfil it. Though, I'm sorry because it took me years before I can fulfil it."
