The Cursed Guardian

Chapter 9

~ SOMEONE ~

My eyes becomes white and my body stiffened. I feel the surge of powerful energy as it envelopes me and I began to see something shining in the dark. A black smoke is approaching it slowly. As the vision becomes clearer, I can see the one shining so brightly is a sword. A very powerful sword. It can bring destruction and salvation depending on who will wield it. The black smoke now surrounds the sword and it's light fading in the dark. I can hear a load explosion and shouts full of agony. Then I fall on the ground and gasp for air. What I saw. It was a war!

Caren ducks down as Shaun aims her head a blow, she quickly stretch forward her right foot and trip Shaun from his stunt. Caren stand up and grins as she look down to Shaun slumped down on the ground.

As he stands up, Caren blows a punch but Shaun got a hold on her wrist and pulls her down. Now, Caren is on the ground as Shaun wears the same grin as she did awhile back.

"Ahhgg!" Caren stands grumpily.

"You can never win over me." Shaun ignores her and turn his back.

Caren did not waste any time, she headed directly to Shaun and kicks him on his leg. His body fell on the ground.

"What are you saying?"

Wooww!!

She is amazing she can beat down a man who's bigger and taller than her. I wish I can be like her. A kick ass lady.

"YOU, CHEATER!"

Shaun loose all his composure and green light comes off him. His eyes like the eyes of an angry big bad bear ready to rip a head off.

"Alright, enough!" Raeco pushed Shaun away. "I only told you to show Auryn an example not to cause a scene."

Toki get holds of Shaun, preventing him to totally loose control.

"But she, started it!"

"You just hate to admit that I can beat you." Caren defended herself.

"Auryn, first lesson to learn when you are in a fight is," he turns to Shaun, "never turn your back on your opponent unless he or she is unconscious."

Shaun's light faded as he take a deep breathe. He realizes his mistake. He sit beside me on the bench. Toki followed. We are on the training grounds. Raeco told me that he will teach me how to fight.

After the running, crawling, climbing, swinging and jumping, now it is dodging, punching and kicking.

"And never trust your opponent." Shaun said, eyes fixed on Caren. "Especially, if they are sneaky!"

Caren just rolled her eyes and sit on my right.

"And don't be too confident that you won already. You never know what will surprise you."

"Are you talking about me?"

"I did not name any one."

"You're definitely referring to me!"

"Why? Does it hit you?"

Toki just rolled his eyes tiredly.

Sigh. These two really like each other. It is like they are more of rivals than in a team. One can surely notice that they don't like each other. Or maybe they really like each other.

I smiled at that thought. You'll never know. Maybe.

"I said ENOUGH!" Raeco inhaled deeply, "Auryn, what did you noticed?"
