~ Meanwhile ~

"Shallows get ready!"

All of them arises on their feet and our surroundings was enveloped with dark smoke.

"Today, we are going to make our offering. And we are going to welcome our Master."

Their dark whispers filled the air as it becomes eerie. I walk on the aisle, between them as they bow their head on me. They acknowledged me as their superior after I revived them with the priestess's blood.

"We are dead but our wrath to them brings back our life for this day. They celebrated for our death, now" my eyes glistens with great joy as I lift the defiled sword, "we will celebrate for their death."

Lucas

It's already too late, even if you managed to free yourself from my curse, saving Veenece is useless now that her only role was done. And her soul will leave her soon. All of you will be serve as an appetizer to our Master.

All of you will be put under my spell. Death will be my vengeance.

"Lucas" Raeco is calmly sitting on the chair beside Veenece's bed but his tone is murderous. "You better not show your face to me again."

I felt sorry for Lucas. He sided on the wrong person believing that she was her mother. He was a rebel Warrior before, now he is the treacherous Warrior who lead his colleagues to their death.

"Raeco, the Chancellor wants our presence in the Council Room." Toki said beside me.

Raeco does not leave her side since we found her. Even if we volunteers to take his side when we asked him to take a rest but he refused. He said he wants to make sure that she is safe.

"You can go without me." He answered, not looking back to us.

"This is an urgent meeting. Everyone of us should attend. The war will happen anytime soon." Toki explained to him.

"We know you are concerned about her." Caren added. "But if we can't prepare for the war, her life will be more in danger. We know you will not like it."

"If we will win the war and defeat our enemy, she will be safer. And you can have all the time in the world to take care of her without worrying about her safety." Shaun convinces him.

He remained silent for a moment. When we receive no response to him, we walked out of the room. I sighed and Caren linked her arms on me while we walk.

"This is the first time that Raeco loses his composure."

"He blames himself that Veenece is in that condition." Shaun throws his left arm around my shoulder.

"It is not his fault that Lucas abducted her." Toki glances to us. "He tried to save her but Lucas has the advantage of his Spirit Guardian's wings."

We all nod the what he said and we walk to the Council Room without uttering another word. Everyone of us is lost again in our thoughts.

Phearo went to search for the sword while I stay inside here. He said I will frame his absence. They will not notice it since I was here. I'll just bluff them saying that he is upset with them, if they will ask.

"Move faster."

We all stop on our feet as Raeco stride before us. When he squint over us, we catch up to him. If only I can do something to help him lessen his worries.

Wait! I can help her!

"Oh! I think I dropped my handkerchief on the way!"

I yanked Shaun's arm off my shoulder and pull my arms out of Caren's grip. I run back to Veenece's room. I helped Rino on his wounds, I can help her too!
