~ Lucas ~
I opened my eyes when I felt something was pulled out of my hand. I remember falling asleep while taking care of Auryn last night. I held up my crooked head on the side of her bed. My eyes was still sleepy.
"Sorry, did I wake you up?"
That voice!
My senses wakes up in slumber upon hearing her voice.
She was awake!
I closed the space between us, hugging her tight. All the heavy feelings was washed with relief upon seeing her eyes opened again.
"Lucas, I can't breathe!" She mumble while pushing me.
I cupped her face and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead before pressing mine to her. I closed my eyes, feeling her warmth.
She tried pulling away but I lock her head to mine.
"W-what are you d-doing?" She sheepishly said and I could only guess that her cheeks was flushed.
I opened my eyes and smiles to her. Her face becomes more red and she looks even more beautiful. She shyly lowered her eyes.
"I'm just glad you're awake!"
"You know, your face is too close." She whispered.
I laugh as I pull my head back and put a space between us but my hands remained on her face.
"You don't know how worried I am. I thought I might lose you."
She frowned and looked at me but she immediately diverts her face again. Then she take my hands down and jolt out of her bed. She hurried to the door but I grab her hand.
"Chancellor Barnabee!" She hold my hand, trying to take back hers. "I need to see him! He was bleeding and his neck was bruised by the dagger!"
I hold both of her shoulder to calm her down and pressed my forehead to hers.
"Relax, he's okay. That was last week and he's doing fine."
I bluff even if it will back fire on me. It was the Chancellor's order.
Her face wrinkled, and her eyes questioning.
"Last week?"
~ Auryn ~
A week!
I've been out for a week and here I thought it was just hours!
"Yes, you are unconscious for a week and it scared the hell out of me!"
Scared?
Oh, yeah! He's scared of Phearo.
He was must have been relieved that I was safe now or Phearo will punish him. When he showed up again, I will explain to him that what happened to me is not Lucas' fault.
"I'm sorry for worrying you all-"
We immediately turn our heads on the window when we heard a commotion outside.
"What was that?"
But instead of answering me, he held my hand and we run outside. I instantly notice the massive dark cloud hovering the forest. It look like as a storm clouds but the odd thing was it was sprawling and I can feel something evil in it.
"The Black Dragon was getting stronger."
I turn my head to him, his sight was on the peculiar dark clouds.
"What happened to Rino?"
He turn his head to me.
"He was still under the Black Dragon's control. Or should I say, the Black Dragon take his body as it's vessel."
My eyes grew wide as I realized what he said. There's no way I'm fighting Rino! I will save him!
I jerk my hand out of his grip and run to find Rino. His still my savior and friend. Even of he was controlled, I know the Rino I knew was still inside of him.
Auryn, help me. . .
It was his words when he take me to the waterfall. It was just for a bit but I know, his mind still refuse to give in the Black Dragon's control.
But before I could get any further, I was grab by Lucas.
"Lucas, I need to find Rino. His voice was desperate when he is chaining me up." I thrash on his hold without looking at him.
"NO! Not now."
That voice! It sounds like. . .
I stop thrashing and turn to look to the man who is holding me.
"Phearo"
It was him! He's back!
"Yes-"
Before he could finish his words I cling to him and give him a very tight embrace. I really miss him. I'm so glad that he's here now.
"Still stubborn, I see."
I pulled myself and look at him. He's face wrinkled.
"Of course, I learned that from you."
His face softens and a smirk was on his face. I knew it!
"I'm glad your awake." He put his arm around my shoulder and we turn to Lucas. "Didn't I tell you that she's strong to overcome her fears?"
His smirk is gone and he looks really serious while looking to Lucas. Lucas rubs his nape.
"Oh, he has nothing to do with my decision going to the enemy's nest. It was my own." I briefly explained to him.
"I know. Now, let's go save the other nearby villagers."
Phearo and I was about to take flight when Lucas spoke.
"Wait, we're taking her? She's just woken up." Lucas argued.
I and Phearo both turned to him. With Phearo scowling to him.
I know but I don't want to lay inside the clinic while the others are out there rescuing lives. It felt like I'm useless.
"Alright, alright! Just make sure your safe and don't make me worry again."
Then he shifts to his armor and glide to the dark clouds direction.
He did not pressed on it? It's strange when he literally draged me in when I tried sneaking out. I glance to Phearo.
Maybe because he's here.
He take me up and followed Lucas.
"When did you came back?"
He lowered his head to me.
"The day you went to the waterfall. Lucas recklessly rescued you there without a plan and he faced the Black Dragon. Good thing, it was still weak back then." He averted his eyes on the dark clouds. "But he turned his anger on the nearby villagers on the Western North and fed on their fears."
The same I went through. It was horrible! All things I assumed my family would think of me was shown in me. I almost gave in but I remembered they let me run to save my life. They did not wished for me to die with them.
If it was an ordinary people, breaking out will be hard. Specially for the young ones. I already hate the Black Dragon for taking advantage of someone else weakness!
"By the way, that Lucas never leave your side when you are facing your fears in the darkness. He's better than Raeco for you."
