Chapter 37

"We will never hand Auryn to you!"

What?! He is after me?  What does he wants from me? And why is he wavering a fight just to find me? He doesn't look like he is up to something good if he ever find me. He came here on his armor and assaulting us.

I walk closer to them but he sends another blow. I crouch down to avoid his attack. I crawl near the crowd. I might as well know why he is after me before I reveal my presence.

"What do you want from her!?"
It was Professor Rose who bellows to him.

"You know, you don't need to meddle in this. This is out of your concern!"

I don't have any business with him. What does he wants? We didn't even talk too much when he was still around here. In fact, the only time we have talked was the time when I passed out healing Rino and him knowing my feelings to Raeco.

"How can it be out of my concern?" Professor Rose bellows again. "It is obvious you're up to something bad."

"I don't like to do this but you, all" he rotates his word, great blue aura is radiating off his sword, "are leaving me of no choice."

I know that attack!

The same attack Phearo used before he dies.  He is going to wash out the Academy! I pushed everyone in front of me as dash forward. I can't let it happen. This Academy is the only thing I have now. He only wants me to show up. If anything bad happens next, I am sure they will protect me.

"AURYN, SHOW YOUR SELF!"
His powerful aura is now in a full circle and if he swing his sword toward us, it will be dangerous.

And he did swing it!

"NO!"

My voice echoes as I step forward to receive his attack. I closed my eyes and hoping a miracle will happen and save us. Then I felt something inside me booming up. An energy so powerful I once felt. When Phearo was still alive beside me. Arriving in the right moment to save me. I felt the  aura radiating off me. When I felt a great amount of energy left my body, I open my eyes. I look around.

I received no blow. Everyone was unharmed, even our surroundings. They have amusement on their faces. Everyone of them. Did Lucas stops the blow when I showed up?

"Auryn, you- how?"

I heard Caren asked among the crowd. I searched for her to see she was on my back. She points her index finger up, I followed to see what she is pointing to. My eyes dilated and mouth slightly open. We are inside a circle of a golden aura.

"I created," I searched for Professor Rose, "a barrier?"

How did I do it?

Do I still possess the Gryphon's power?

"Step out of the barrier!" Lucas ordered me as he swing his sword down to his side.

"No, Auryn!" Caren stops me when I move my feet. "You can't fight him." She shakes her head.

"Caren is right." Raeco agrees with her. Toki and Shaun nods in agreement too. "Let me out of your barrier and I will face him."

I know what they mean. He is in his armor. His Spirit Guardian is with him while I am not. He is dead.

"I can easily penetrate your barrier!" He scoffs and before he could destroy it, I step out. I wish for the barrier to stay to keep them safe. I crossed my middle finger and my index finger. I look back and it was still there.

"What do you want from me?"

He did not answer. Instead he dash in front of me, giving me a blow but I dodge it. He continues to attack and I can only dodge him. I can hear them screaming to me. To put down the barrier so they can help me but I don't even know how I put it up. As well as how I put it down.
