Chapter 12

~ Lucas ~

Still the same.

I walked out of the Academy's garden. The secret door in this garden is my official entrance to this Academy. I am expecting the shocked faces of the warriors who knows me and of course, the Professors.

I go straight to my former room. I know he will go there when he knows I'm here. I can feel people's eyes on me yet no one dared to question my existence.

"Lucas!"

I turn to the familiar voice who called me. We used to be friends when I was a kid. Seems that he just came from the Chancellor's office. He walks to my direction.

"It's good to see you." But the way I said it is without emotion.

"I hope you don't mind with the Council investigating on your Mother's death twenty years ago."

Mother is right. They are having suspicions about her they might know that she is alive soon. I must find the sword fast.

"That is why I'm here. You should investigate the Council. They are the one who killed my mother."

He believed the Council's words when they killed my mother. I was only five years old back then but I remembered everything. They killed my mother right in front of my eyes. And Ravenous did nothing! He even hugged my Mother before they stabbed her.

"It is all in the past now." He pats my shoulder. "I'm glad your back. Professor Ravenous don't have to worry about you with the Shallows."

As if on cue, the old man appears from the corridors. He recognized me immediately and a small smile curved from his lips.

"I did not come here to see you." I glared to him.

"I know, son."

My brows meet at his words. How dare him! He don't have the right to say those words.

"You're disgusting."

"I'm sorry for his rudeness, Professor." Raeco lowers his head. I just scoffs. The old man nods his head.

"I don't want to stay here any longer. The Shallows are better to deal with than the Professors."

He breathe deep while his eyes close. Then he opened his eyes.

"If you don't want to stay here, just join Raeco's team with their mission." He said turning to Raeco.

"He will be a great help in finding the sword, Professor." He turns to me.

Oh, I don't need to tailed them. They will let me join their search.

This is easy.

"Please, agree." And now the old man is pleading me. Huh, great! "I'll be at peace if you join them instead of worrying you got killed by Shallows."

"I am not weak! I can kill a dozen of Shallows!"

"If you'll excuse us, Sir." Raeco interrupting our serious talk. "I'll inform the Chancellor that he will join my team."

"I'll go with."

We walked straight to the Chancellor's office. Not much people is here. The warriors are on the training grounds having a match with each other. The guy was easily thrown on the ground.

Huh, weak!

A woman cheers on the guy as he stand up. Then she suddenly turned to us. She is smiling as she wave her hand. There is something glimmering in her eyes. Raeco returned her smile. I can't help but to raise a brow. I thought he is into Veenece. I glance back to her before we continue our way to the office.
