~ Auryn ~
"If we just keep on saving every villagers everytime the Black Dragon attacks, we are just giving him enough time to be stronger."
"Our barrier is useless once it gets enough power. What we're doing is just a temporary protection." Agreed Phearo on what I said.
"That is why we are gathered here to form a plan, Auryn. We can't just attack the Black Dragon." Explained Professor Hilton.
"But the best time to attack is right now because it's still weak. The possibility of defeating it is higher."
"Isn't that a bit reckless?" Professor Connor asked a bit worried.
Reckless it may seem but this a chance for us. We need to put our bet on this opportunity or everything will become more complicated in the future.
"Auyrn is right." Reaco said after a few seconds. He is looking serious.
"Okay, let's assault the Black Dragon, be killed or survive. That's your plan?" Edward frowned on us. Sarcasm is present in his tone.
Phearo grimaced and obviously, he did not like what he heard. His strength and power is being questioned.
"Auryn is not suggesting that WE will attack the Black Dragon." He roars on Edward.
"What do you mean?"
Puzzlement was on their faces.
"The Black Dragon only wants me-"
"HELL, NO!" Our heads was turned to Lucas for his sudden outburst.
"He is right, Auryn. There is no way I will let you go on your own." Professor Rose' has this certainty on her voice.
"You just recovered for days. Are you sure about this?" Professor Ravenous asked with a frown on his forehead.
"Yes-"
"No. I. Will. Not. Let. You." Lucas said with emphasis on every word.
Phearo is now scowling to him and I was a bit offended on their reactions.
Do they think I can't do this?
"Listen! Just listen to me, first!" I raise the tone of my voice enough to silence them. "He thinks I am weak and it hurts me that you, all, think I am but you had seen me changed and the Black Dragon didn't know it. He wants to possess my body to have the Gryphon's power and I'm taking that as a bait to kill it. I will go there without Phearo's presence so it could assume that he's off again. When he transformed to it's real appearance, I will stab him and all of you will attack him in sync."
They slightly lowered their head when I'm finished speaking. They can't look straight to me, confirming what I've said is very true.
"Auryn, we are just concerned." Professor Rose held my hand and caged it on hers. "I'm sorry for letting you think that you are weak."
"I know, but trust me on this. I need it and your support." I gently smiled on her as I stroke her shoulder.
"Why don't we just attack Rino. It is easier than facing the Black Dragon itself?" Asked Edward again.
Help me. . .
His plead rang in my ears again. That is why I want to do this on my own. So I could save him.
"I will save him. I have a feeling that Rino is still there and it will be hard on Rheena if her only son would be dead."
" But it is too dangerous. It is like jumping on a lake of lava." Lucas is still firm in restraining me.
"Didn't we talk about it already, Guardian Warrior?" Phearo steps in front of me with a wrinkled face on Lucas.
"I know but," he peak over Phearo and sends me a worried face, "I don't want anything bad to happen to her." He said in a low voice.
"You mean I, the imperial Gryphon Phearo, is not enough to protect my own vessel?!" He roars with great intensity and the whole room trembles. Everyone inside the room can feel his tremendous power. "You are saying that we are not capable of protecting and saving you all?!"
But Lucas looks like he's not intimidated, instead he look straight in Phearo's eyes.
"I know that you are strong. In fact, your the most powerful Guardian Warrior and I know that even without our help you can survive. But you can't take away my privilege to be concern about her."
The air in the room becomes thick as the two lock stares on each other and before it could becomes worst I butt in their conversation.
"Thank you for your concern Lucas." Lucas gaze shifted in me. "But as you said we are the most powerful so there is nothing to worry about. If I got hurt it's not your fault. Phearo won't punish you for it."
Lucas seems disappointed on what I said. He scoffs as he throws his hand to his side.
"I am not like this because of his damn order!" I was taken aback on what he said. Everyone with us look at me with a knowing look and it confuses me. "I already lost my mother and I don't want to lose you too!"
"You don't have to worry about me. I have Phearo by my side and why are you so afraid to lose-"
I don't want to lose you too. . .
What does he mean by that? He loved his mother very much that he was so hurt by her death. He even turned his back on the Academy.
Why is he afraid to lose me too?
Is it because. . .
I shake my head. No it can't be! He is cold towards me when we first met. He does not care to anyone. He is just doing this because of Phearo's order.
But he said he does not.
Lucas never leave your side. . .
It was quite true. Ever since he came back he was always by my side. He even disobeyed their order and helped me with the Black Dragon. He rescued me.
And his actions. He suddenly becomes too caring on me. I remember the day I woke up. He look so distressed but when he saw me?
My eyes widen as I look on him. His blue eyes was soft and I can see the fear in his eyes. He is afraid to lose me. Then he smirk.
"You just realize it now. Your so dense."
My heart beats widely. It's different from the way I felt for Raeco before. As I stare longer on his eyes, the more it becomes intense. I place my hand on my chest to stop it but it seems to beat louder and it's ringing on my ears.
Lucas take a step forward but Phearo blocks him. Again, they stare for a moment. Phearo tilted his head on me then he look back to Lucas.
"You love her yet you can't trust her."
Love.
There he said it. But still, it sounds. . . I don't know.
"I trust her. I'm just afraid to lose her."
I feel someone touch me from behind. I glance back to see it was Professor Ravenous. My face reddened. The grumpy Professor.
"Thank you for returning my old Lucas. He really changed for the better."
