Chapter 10

~ AURYN ~

"How can you help your team mates in the future if you're a burden?"

The gloomy Professor in all black said. He is wearing a turtle neck black sweater, black knee length coat and black slacks. He is a walking Halloween!

"She is improving, Sir"

I'm happy Raeco defended me but what the Professor said was true. They can't protect me while fighting. It's true. I'm a burden.

"All of you, do not interfere."

My eyes widen. I can feel what's going to happen next is far from good. Even Caren and Shaun who's not currently in good terms seem to agree on one thing. No good will happen. Toki straighten his shoulder. Raeco's lips press on thin line, his eyes darken.

Indeed it was no good!!!!

My eyes almost fall on its sockets when a reaper appeared on his hands. Chain is attached on its handle and in the end of it is a golden dagger.

Seriously, this old man wants me dead!

Shock and fear was still creeping down my nerves when he suddenly throws me the weapon. I was stunned.

You can't always hide.

Raeco's words hit me. I was able to dodge before it hits me. Then it comes again. I run away to dodge it again. I was trying to observe him. I should be alert and cautious at the same time.

You should strengthen your offense while sensitive on your defense.

"Sir, this is absurd!"

Raeco suddenly shouts. His team is on their stunt already. Ready to aid me. Then the Professor aims the dagger to them.

Nooooo

I tried to run to them. If he got hit, it is my fault. He's been good to me. He defended me. He comforts me. They all cared for me. They treat me like a friend. I want anything to happen to them.

I totally forgot about the reaper heading my way.  My mind is on how can I protect them. The dagger is nearing him. I felt the unknown energy again. Running on my nerves and I felt it coming off me. 

"Nooooooo!!!!"

I run faster to them as the dagger touch him. Then, a light envelopes them and the dagger bounced back. When the lights
fade, they were circled by yellow aura. They were even confused on what exactly happened. Even I was confused!

"RUN!" They all shout as they point something to my left. I look where they were pointing and I saw the reaper heading my way.

I'm dead.

I close my eyes shut, expecting it to pierce on my heart. At least, I save my friends. I don't mind dying protecting them. I was waiting for it to finally end my life.

Why does it took so long?

I opened my left eye. I saw a magnificent man standing in front of me. He is not Raeco neither Shaun nor Toki. They was there, still inside the yellow aura, stunned.

I open my eyes totally. The man stand tall in his armor. His hair is white turning to grey and black as it goes down his waist. And he has WINGS! A huge wings touching the ground. He titled his head to me.

"Stupid!" He scoffs. "You should dodge it. Not close your eyes and wait for it, WEAKLING!"

He emphasizes the word weakling but I did not give a care. I was focus on why he is standing in front of me. Then he throws back the reaper to the Professor. He seems calm. He's not even shock of what is happening to us.
