Hope's POV

I wake up with Josie and Landon snoring again. Rolling my eyes, I swing my legs over the bed and stand up, looking to see if anyone was awake. The twins were fast asleep on my bed and so was Landon on the mattress. Rafael was the only one awake. He smiles at me and I smile back. Moving my head to the door, he nods his head and we walk out.

"Thank god you are awake. I couldn't take their snoring. Landon on his own is one thing, but both of them." He shakes his head and I laugh. "Anyway, how are you feeling? With your Grandparents being back?" I think for a moment.

"You know how you said about there always being another shoe. Where there is always another one to drop? I feel like that will happen. I became an orphan at fifteen, and now I have my parents, Uncle, and now Grandparents back. I'm just waiting to wake up one day and it all being a dream." I sigh and look at him. "I'm sorry Raf, I'm being selfish. Here I am with my family back, and you don't have yours. I don't mean to offend you."

"No, no. Your not. You have spent nearly three years an orphan and now your not, but you still have the mindset of one. You always will. It doesn't matter how many happy memories you have now because you still have the memories of not having them. You know what it feels like to lose them, and no one expects you to switch to a happy person now. You will always have that in the back of your brain. In your heart." He looks at me then laughs. "That was deep for a morning." I chuckle and smile at him. "I'm happy for you though. I would never wish to take that away from you. I mean. Wish I had it instead of you. That's not my style."

"Thank you, Raf. You're a great friend."

"And so are you." I move forward and pull him in for a hug. We stand there for a few seconds and then pull apart. I smirk at him. "Oh, no. You have that smirk."

"Want to spar with me?"

A few minutes later, me and Raf are sparing in the fitness room that was added to the compound a while ago. This time, he is giving me his full weight, which is what I need. He tries to punch me, but I kick his leg, making him fall. Quickly using his hands to push him off the floor without using his feet, he stands back up, eyes glowing. Smirking, I kick up at his face, missing him by a centimetre. We carry on fighting for a couple more minutes. Suddenly, he has pinned me to the floor, trying to choke me. Now my own eyes turn yellow and I use my feet to wrap around his neck, twisting so he is on the floor. Pushing me off, we start again in our fighting positions. Both of our eyes still glowing, he charges forwards, trying to rugby tackle me. Doing a flip over him, I land softly behind him. He growls and turns around. Everything gets faster, him hitting me in the face, me kicking him in his side. We know if we hurt each other we will heal, so we carry on, using all the weight and power we have. Well, I use all my wolf power. I won't use my magic against him and I haven't activated my vampire side yet, so I can't use that yet. Finally, we finish, with me pinning him against the wall and not moving. He taps out and I release him. He laughs and asks if he can use the shower, so I tell him to use mine.

"You definitely have your parents fighting skills." I turn around and see my Uncle Kol standing there.

"Do you want a go?" I say and he laughs.

"Yeah, getting beaten by my niece who is seventeen while I am a thousand-year-old vampire? No thanks." I join in with his laugh and walk with him to the kitchen.

"Where did you and Raf go?" Josie asks me, as I see my friends sat at the kitchen table, eating breakfast.

"Oh, we decided to spar. He's just gone in the shower now." I explain as I sit down next to Lizzie.

"She kicked ass. Both of them did, but you can tell who's kid she is." Uncle Kol says. My Dad laughs and looks at my mother then me.

"That's my girl." I smirk back at him, before nicking some bacon off Lizzie's plate.
