Kol's birthday

Hayley's POV 

Today is Kol's birthday. I can't believe he will be 1,046, and he still looks eighteen. Walking to the main court area, Rebekah is ordering the staff around. The place already looks amazing, but of course, any Mikaelson do has to be perfect. The kids are out for the day, they insisted that they would get in the way, and it should be a time for the adults to spend some time together. They agreed to come back later, Hope wanting to see her Uncle on his birthday. She seemed a lot happier, and I'm glad. She rose above what happened with Landon like I knew she would. As I always told her, she is a Mikaleson. 

Walking to the kitchen, I see Klaus drinking some blood. he hasn't noticed I am here, so I walk over to him quietly and snatch his glass. He turns and stands, with me scaring him. I just smirk at him, before taking a drink from it. He shakes his head and I give him his glass back. 

"Careful brother, sharing spit." We turn and see Elijah walking in with Leah behind him. Klaus rolls his eyes. 

"How many times Elijah, she was kissing you not me." I look at him confused and he sighs. "We were at a bar and this girl who Elijah was dating stole my drink and took a sip. I refused to drink out of it and now Elijah takes the piss out of me whenever someone drinks from my glass." 

"Oh." I nod my head and sit down on the chair at the island next to Klaus's. He sits back down too, taking another sip of his drink. 

"And besides Elijah, she could have had a disease, Hayley doesn't." He simply states and I start chuckling. 

"Rebekah says you brought your girlfriend here yesterday, or she stayed over the night before? Did you let people meet her?" Elijah asks him. 

"Nope." He says and starts reading something on his phone. 

"Nice conversation with you too." Elijah says and rolls his eyes. 

"You bringing anyone tonight Hayley?" Leah asks me. At this Klaus looks up at me. "Elijah said you were dating someone." 

"No, I thought I would introduce him some other time, and he was busy tonight anyway." She nods her head at me, understanding. 

"You wanting to introduce him to Hope first? Same with Klaus's girlfriend? Or do you too want to meet each other's partners before they meet Hope? It can be weird introducing new people to kids. It was weird when I met my parent's new partners." Leah says to us. I look at Klaus and he just looks at me. 

"I've erm. I've already met Klaus's girlfriend." I say and Klaus's eyes widen. "I mean, as we both said, you guys already know who we are dating, but we just haven't told you guys yet. I saw them together one time when I was meeting with my boyfriend. She's nice, I like her." I make up. 

"Yeah?" He questions and I glare at him a little, making sure the others can't see. He just smirks at me. "Sadly we left before I could meet Hayley's boyfriend." 

"Guess that's good. After all the trouble he has caused for your past relationships." Elijah states and I laugh. Klaus just rolls his eyes. 

"Jackson was a pain. Declan was taking my place as a father, he even asked me where I was, seeing as he was there for Christmas's and birthdays. And he was Camillie's cousin." He explains. It's my turn to roll my eyes. "And the other one, well you know how that went down Elijah, seeing as it was you." He adds, then takes another sip of his drink, looking back at his phone. 

"What does he mean it was you?" Leah asks, looking at Elijah. Klaus chokes on his drink and stands up. 

"Well, seeing as this sudden tension was caused by me putting my foot in it, I'm going to take that stupid foot and walk out." He says and walks out of the room. I look back at Elijah and he looks at me.
