Finale

Hayley's POV 

"HM." 

I stand there frozen, and so does Klaus. No one speaks, we just stand there. Rebekah looks at me and then Klaus, then back to me again. I don't dare look at him. For some reason, my brain believes that if I don't look at him, she won't make the connection. But, she already has. 

"Hello?" A voice says, and we see Freya walk in. "There you are. We getting something for the baby or what?" She asks us. 

"Yeah. I'll get my bag." I say and step away from Rebekah and Klaus. Walking past Freya, I start going up the stairs. As I walk up, I see Klaus look at me. In his look, I can tell everything. The secret is out. 

Walking to my room, I grab my bag and phone. It wasn't that bad them finding out. It wasn't bad at all. I just hope it doesn't change everything. Looking at my calendar, I remind my self that it is February, and we planned to tell them in April, so it isn't that early. It might be a good time now anyway. Before Klaus and Rebekah's birthday's and before the baby is born. Maybe this will actually be good to tell them now. Walking back to the door, I put my hand on the door handle, but quickly turn around and run to my calendar again. I look through it, and the old one that is next to it. 

"FREYA! FREYA MIKAELSON!" I scream. Running out of my door and looking over the railing, I see her walking towards the stairs.

"What?" She asks me, concerned.

"GET HERE NOW!"

When she gets into my room, I lock the door and start freaking out. After finally calming down I start explaining. "A couple of months ago, actually, two days after you made me an Original, I started bleeding. It lasted a few days, and then it stopped. It has happened again every month, and I thought it was really weird, but I didn't think much of it, since it didn't hurt that much. It was like a period, but only lasting three days. But, then I started thinking, could it be a side effect of the drink I took to finish the transition into being as strong as an Original?" There is a sudden banging on the door.

"Hayley? Are you ok?" Klaus shouts through the door.

"I'm fine. Don't worry." I reply quickly. Walking into my ensuite, I make Freya follow, and start running the water so he won't be able to listen in. Suddenly, something clicks in Freya's brain.

"OH MY GOD!" She shouts but quickly stops when I hit her. "You know when Klaus found out you were pregnant, and everyone was confused by how it was possible. Well, when he activated his wolf side again, he wasn't fully dead."

"What has that got to do with me?" I say. She is really confusing me.

"Hayley. You were in your twenties when you died. A couple of months ago, I made you an Original Hybrid, just like Klaus. And when he activated his wolf side, he was able to have kids again. When I made you an Original Hybrid, I first made your werewolf side come forward, bringing you back to life." I furrow my eyebrows at her, even more confused than normal. "Hayley, you are alive, because of your wolf side, like Klaus. And Klaus can have kids, meaning..."

"WHAT?!" I shout. I then remember Klaus is probably still outside my door. "You mean that... Oh my God." I sit down on the toilet seat.

"Because you died when you were in your twenties, bringing you back to life means that it has started again." Freya whispers back.

"I am actually having periods again." I say, even quieter.

"Also meaning, you can have kids again." Freya finishes. We both just stare in shock. Freya then suddenly jumps. "Your Mum. Ring your Mum. She was in her twenties when she died, and I brought her back. Maybe she is having them again."

I quickly grab my phone and ring my Mum. After a short conversation, I walk back to where Freya is and nod my head. "Ever since she came back, she has had her period."  

"Why didn't you say something before?" She asks me. 

"I don't know. I guess I had been so used to having periods before that I just forgot I'm not supposed to have them." I say and shrug my shoulders. "I did think it was a little odd, but I mean, being brought back from the dead is a little weird." 

"Why did you ask me now?" Freya says and looks at me, leaning against the counter. 

"Because it stopped happening two months ago. To be honest, I forgot it kept happening till it didn't happen this month. Then it hit me that I shouldn't be having anything like a period. I thought I better ask you since I didn't think this could happen at all." I explain. 

"I wonder why it has stopped." Freya mumbles and I shrug my shoulders. I stand up and turn the water off, then start walking out of the ensuite.  

"Klaus did say something odd though. He said he heard another hear-" I stop suddenly, and Freya walks into the back of me.  

"What?" She asks me, then looks worried when she sees my face. "What is it?" 

"Klaus." I whisper and she looks even more worried and confused. "When it was only me and Klaus in the compound, he said he thought he heard another heartbeat." I say and look into her eyes. 

"Ok. So, it could have been-" Her eyes widen. "Shit." She says. 

"No." I say. She walks past me and opens the door, running out of the room and going down the stairs. I run after her. "You can't be serious!" I shout as she grabs her bag. 

"What's going on?" Rebekah asks. 

"How many heartbeats can you hear in the whole compound?" Freya asks her. Rebekah furrows her eyebrows but sees the seriousness in Freya's face. We wait a couple of seconds. 

"Five why?" She asks, confused. Freya looks at me then charges out of the compound. "What is going on?" She asks me. 

"Nothing." I say and run after Freya. I run to her car before she can drive out and I open the car door, getting in. Slamming the door, she starts driving. "What are you doing?" 

"Rebekah says there were five heartbeats." She simply states. I furrow my eyebrows, then widen my eyes.  

There was only four of us in the compound.

This is the end of To the afterlife and back. I hope you all have liked this book. I never thought people would read it, but you guys proved me wrong.
