You know those covers that you just want to look at for an hour. Yes, those ones. Go look at the cover for this story. Is gorgeous and so relevant to the story. I love it.
This is one of those complex fantasy books whose every word is beautiful. The description is gorgeous. There's a lot of it, but it's not overwhelming or boring. Extremely well done.
And guys: this is a Chinese fantasy

I'm not a Chinese history or culture expert, but in my ignorance it definitely matches up with every other Chinese fantasy/fiction/art I've experienced.
So if you're a fan, Go!!! This story is for you
The characters are sweet, very classic and wonderfully developed. This author is going to write a character's entire personality into the way their shadow falls. Is so perfect. I'm a major Epic Fantasy fan, and this is just the kind of style I love.
The world is already extremely complex and nuanced in the first couple chapters. It's a wonderful set-up for an epic story.
THERE IS GORE........ if you can't handle it, I'm sorry!!! don't yell at me please :(
My only thing:
b^.^ there are a few grammar/spelling errors sprinkled here and there. Not horrible at all, just enough for me to notice with my inability to read words.
Now, get going and go look at that cover ;) and then open the story. If you make it out without getting hooked, I cry.
