Hindi na nagawang mag robe ni Victoria dahil sa patuloy na pagtunog ng kanyang doorbell. She even wonders kung sino ang pupunta sa bahay niya ng ganun kaaga.
She already opened the door ng maalala niyang wala nga palang nakakapasok sa building nila unless authorized. Kaya’t napatanga na lamang siya ng makita niya si Matt, smile on his face and two cups of coffee.
“Breakfast?” Yun na lamang ang nasabi ni Matt. Di nya maalis ang tingin kay Victoria. Suot pa din nya ang kapirasong tank top at short shorts. Probably got up and went straight to the door, “opps, did I wake you up?”
Di pa din makasagot si Victoria, mentally trying to imagine how she looks at the moment. And after crying her heart out kagabi, alam niyang kahit siya ay matatakot pag nakita niya ang sarili sa salamin, kaya’t tumalikod sya kay Matt at sinabi, “you might as well get inside.”
Pumasok si Matt at isinara ang pinto. Alam niyang self-consious si Victoria at hindi niya maibigay ang assurance na she’s the most beautiful thing na nakita niya sa umaga, even without the make up and with her tousled hair. Alam niyang hindi maniniwala si Victoria.
What bothers him though ay ang mga mata nya. From the looks of it, she stayed up late crying her eyes out.
“Why don’t you change and let me prepare breakfast?” To his surprise, sumunod na lamang si Victoria sa kanya ng walang argument.
Matapos makapagbihis si Victoria ay inabutan nya si Matt na nagluluto sa kitchen. Naupo siya sa counter habang pinapanuod si Matt.
“Here, drink your coffee first, malapit ng matapos itong niluluto ko.”
Tinignan ni Victoria ang ginagawa ni Matt, “san galing yan?”
Nginitian siya ni Matt bago sumagot, “I came prepared. How was the coffee?”
“Paano mo nalaman na ito ang iniinom ko?
“I asked. Kilala ka ng mga tao dito sa building. Still quite popular, I see.”
“And how did you even manage to get inside without any authorization from me?”
Muling nangiti si Matt, “madami kang tanong, are you by any chance a lawyer?”
With that, natawa na lang si Victoria. Anu nga ba naman ang difference kung malaman nya o hindi. Ang importante ay andito si Matt.
“Para sa isang tao na lumaki sa luho, it looks like you know what you are doing.”
“Hey, have faith. I grew up with three older sisters and a doting mother. And they made sure na I know everything there is about women. Besides, I’d been in the states for the past two years, you just learn how to fend for yourself pag andun ka.”
Sinulyapan ni Matt si Victoria, relaxed ito sa kanyang pagkakaupo sa counter. Mas mukha siyang college student sa suot niyang maikling sleeveless summer dress. All he had to do is tug the dress and she’ll be naked.
Napapikit si Victoria ng lumapit si Matt, she could smell his cologne. He smells fresh and cool. She’s tempted to lean on him and kiss him.
Ng muli niyang binuksan ang kanyang mga mata ay naka sandal na si Matt sa may counter, intently looking at her.
“At this moment Vic, I’m so tempted to kiss you.”
‘Bakit hindi mo gawin?’ sabi nito sa kanyang isip, but she was so afraid to voice her own desire.
Ipinosisyon ni Matt ang kanyang sarili sa gitna ng kanyang mga hita, hinawi niya ang buhok ni Victoria at binulong, “hindi mo lang alam how bad I’ve always wanted to kiss you”.
Bumilis ang pintig ng pulso ni Victoria, matagal na niyang hinihintay ito, ang tuluyan ng mahalikan si Matt. She closed her eyes, waiting for his kiss. She could almost feel his lips. His breath mingles with her own.

“So are you,” nakangiting sagot ni Matt.
“Is this payback then?”
“Nope. This is me being noble. Again. God only knows I’d regret this. Again.” Sinabi niyang mag diin sa huling salita.
It took her a second to realize what he meant, and when she did, “I guess we have to start somewhere. Truce?”
Inilahad ni Victoria ang kanyang kamay at kinuha iyon ni Matt, “yes, truce it is.”
The meal was perfect. The day was young. Pero dahil napuyat si Victoria noong nakaraang gabi ay hindi nya mapigilan ang maghikab. “Am I that boring?”
“ Hindi no. Hindi lang talaga ako nakatulog kagabi.”
“Was it my fault?”
“Nope. ‘Twas mine…”
“Okay, why don’t you take a rest first while I tidy up.”
“Sandali ha? Kaninong bahay nga uli ito?”
Napangiti si Matt.
”Go, wag ng matigas ang ulo. Minsan lang ako nag ooffer na i-pamper ka, dami pang reklamo.”
Walang nagawa si Victoria kundi sumunod na lamang. She is too tired to resist. Anyway, it’s not as if pagsasamantalahan sya ni Matt habang tulog.
