Calling: Goth Princess
Kakatunog pa lang ng telepono ko ay agad ko naitong sinagot. “Vic. I’d been trying to get in touch with you.”
“I know.” Sagot nya.
“Daanan na lang kita mamayang pauwi. What time can you leave the office?”
“Ah, Matt, we may have a situation…” Napabuntunghininga ako. This is becoming a roller coaster ride.
“We can deal with it. Kahit anu pa yun.” I assured her.
“Ay anu ba. It’s about work.”
“You shouldn’t scare me like that Vic.” Trabaho, we can always deal with. Yung uncertainties nya ang ikinakakaba ko.
“My news might scare you more.”
She is really trying to push me away, and it’s beginning to piss me off.
“Huh. Not making any sense here, princess.”
“Remember the impromptu meeting you just had with my boss?”
“Yes. Still paying for that one. I need to finish the damned settlement agreement that I promised him.”
Victoria might be a welcome distraction at the moment pero kailangan ko talagang tapusin ito ngayon para masundo ko sya mamaya.
“Well, here’s another one. We need to be on site by tomorrow. So better finish that agreement and pack your bags. Because we are going on a vacation, baby!”
She’s so excited I can’t help but smile a little. Pero biglang: isang linggo?! With her, sa isang tropical paradise?! Darn, I’d be taking cold showers every other hour.
I don’t think my self-control would hold that long. And I don’t think that Victoria is ready. Which might actually turn that one week of heaven into hell.
“Ok. Be there at three. And please email me the details and the itinerary. I’ll text you my email ad.” I said curtly and ended the call.
I know, we are both idiots, blowing hot and cold. Minsan sana magasabay naman kami.
Hay, there’s no way na magagawa ko ito ng maayos, at wala na akong choice kung hindi kumuha ng reinforcement.
