Since I've shown everybody in the book except for Grace's parents. Here they are when Grace and Malik was just born, now all you need to do is picture them in their early 60s late 50s😁.

I tried to call my brother but achievement time he declined the call, sent them to voicemail. The last time I saw him was when a small group of us gathered for her ninth night. As soon as it was over he left, he didn't talk to anyone.

My father and I went over to his house. It was either he was home and not answeing the door, or he was somewhere else bout his apartment.

Today was the day for her setup the day before her funeral. Everything was organized and ready for tomorrow. Malik and I would read the eulogy, My father wanted David to be involved to. It was very thoughtful of him, so then David would be doing the first scripture on the program along with his friend from school.

My father would be doing the other scripture that followed after that. All her family members had a part in there. It'd been a few hours since the setup had started. Malik was yet to show his self.

I was walking around talking to cousins that had come looking over my shoulder every now and again to see if Malik would come through the front gate. My phone rang and I excused myself to go answer.

Malik's POV

For some reason I distanced myself from my sister. I know for a fact all she wanted to do was make sure I'm ok. I didn't answer her calls or go to he door when they knocked on my door.

I was being unfair at the moment, but everyone had their of coping with grief. This was mine. Tonight was the night of the setup. And I was hours late, reason being because I slept in.

A call was coming in from work, I took my eyes off the road for just one second to answer it. Then my car started doing summer salutes in the air.

My surrounding became a blur, the noises around I could hardly make sense of what they were saying. I felt blood trickling down my face. I passed out for sure because I couldn't sense anything around me.

When I opened my eyes again, I had to close it because of all the bright lights. Adjusting to the brightness, I looked around to see I was in a hospital room. Memories of last night came rushing back to me. I guess this is why that say not to use your phone while driving huh?

I looked around and I saw my sister fast asleep on a chair by my bed. I brushed my hand in her hair and she immediately woke up.

She embraced me in a hug which I didn't refuse to give her back. She was crying and I was the cause of it. I also remembered that today was our mother's funeral.

"Aren't you supposed to be at the funeral?" I asked her, because I wanted her to let me go. She was crushing my spine.

"It's delayed until you are better."

"You didn't need to do that, we can still keep it today."

"Malik your arms is broken. They aren't gonna let you out just like that."

"Mhmm."

My arm was in a cast. Doing everything with one arm was grater than hard. I eventually gave up on day two and went to my parents house. I was going to be a one armed pallbearer.

Everything went perfectly. Grace cried a bit while reading the eulogy. Surprisingly my father said that she wanted Blake to be one of the pallbearers.

I watched as my mother's coffin was lowered into the ground.

A mother, a wife, a grandmother, a sister, a friend was gone. Everyone has a time to go and this was hers.
