It's been a few weeks and for the most part, I've been locked up in the room. Three times a day, a fair woman with beautiful red hair and green eyes drops off some meals. I didn't want to touch their food, but couldn't think about myself, I was now responsible for another life.

The positive is that in duration I've been here I've hardly seen Roman. As soon as I was moved into this room, I took off all my jewellery connecting to Tyler especially, my wedding ring but when it came to my anklet, I didn't have the heart. It felt like a betrayal so I kept it on.

I didn't know how long I could keep my pregnancy hidden. On the odd day when I get to sleep, all I see is Roman finding out, then he beats me till a pool of blood sits between my legs and I've lost my baby.

Once again, the women walked in with a tray of food, ''won't you tell me your name?''

She looked at me with so much pity, ''I'm Rose. I'm sorry this happened to you.''

I gave her a dim smile, something in me knew I could trust her. She advised me to hid the ring behind a painting in the room since, apparently, Roman never really took an interest in art.

''How do you get involved in all this?''

As she spoke, she looked everywhere but my eyes, ''I grew up extremely poor but I was fine with it. My father left before I could even open my eyes. My mother, of course, remarried. He was a cruel man, he did nothing to help but my mother was in love. He left her to do all the work, day in and day out. After a few months she couldn't take, combined with our poor living conditions, her heart gave out. My step-father grew to be increasingly abusive, he'd hit me for no reason, black and blue,'' I couldn't help but hug her, it was as if I could feel the suffering and pain she endured the more the story went on. The way she held on to me, she definitely needed the hug.

''I ran away, slept on the streets, begging for scraps until Roman found me. He took me in, fed me, clothed me, educated me. He treated me like family. Once I saw his skills, I begged him to train me. I never wanted to weak again but more importantly, I wanted revenge. I become almost as good as him. That's when I went after my stepfather. It was the best day of my life.''

Her lips curled into a sly smile, ''so you are...''

''An assassin, yes,'' she let out a sigh, ''you know I'll go. You probably want me gone.''

''What! No. Who am I to judge? Please don't leave.'' She smiled and took a seat on my bed.

''I'll get you some larger clothes.''

''Excuse me.''

''I'm assuming you want to hide your pregnancy.''

''Is it-it that obvious?'' I brought my hands to my abdomen, rubbing it softly.

''I didn't actually know, I suspected. Only because I have the great power of observation. You only ever eat half your food, you spend the morning in the bathroom and shield your stomach often.''
