Chaos.
Fear was everywhere as people ran through the streets of busy cities, trying to flee, to run and survive.
Houses burned, neighbourhoods destroyed and roads torn, cars overturned and ruined.
Japan was collapsing.
On screen, the Empress spoke; her voice clear and commanding.
"Currently, we face unprecedented threats. Our country is falling but we must remain strong and determined! Our sun will shine after the darkness has been vanquished. We will be better! Have faith!"
Screams could be heard as heroes fought to the bitter end; towns fell under the power of the unleashed High End Nomus. The Heroes had never faced something so strong and were crushed, defeated and left for dead as the Nomus rampaged, flaunting their power wherever they went.
Miruko snarled as she cracked her knuckles, marching onto the stage with a grimace. The top 100 Heroes that were still alive had gathered, along with Hawks and the rest of the top ten. No one answers, doubt and apprehension clear as day on their faces. Horror fills Miruko as she hears a young voice come from the crowd;
"How can we stop any of this? We couldn't stop the villains in Yukai city, how could we possibly stop those beasts?" It was now that Miruko realised something:
How young everyone was. With the exception of a few, most weren't all that old, some in their early twenties or late thirties or even fresh out of school. Miruko herself was young, only 26, Hawks only just reaching 22, yet he was the number one, and the utter weight that fell onto his and the rest of their shoulders was astounding.
How could they lead a war?
How were they supposed to carry such a burden?
Would they even survive?
Miruko wasn't a woman to be intimidate or scared but this terrified her. To face such dark odds, the future that seemed bleak, it was a thought that she had locked away. She had to keep her composure, she was Miruko after all, not Rumi Usagiyama, so she smirked and said;
"Doesn't matter as long as we fight!" Hawks placed a hand on her shoulder;
