Chase and Berry travelled for a few hours when they finally arrived on Vanilla Wafer Beach.
"Aaah! Feel the sun shining on your face! You might need some sunscreen and we might need to get changed."
Chase looked at his and Berry's outfits.
"Wait, why?" He asked.
"Every place has sort of like a secret dress code, and Vanilla Wafer Beach is no exception. If you don't wear what others are wearing, you won't blend in, which makes you look suspicious. And, you don't have any excuses other than if you forgot your clothes at home."
"What's the dress code then?" Chase asked.
"Flowy and loose clothing, and swimsuits of course, we're going swimming!"
"I thought we were on an adventure!"
"We are, but why not have some fun while we're on our adventure? Come on, you slowpoke, let's have some fun!" She grabbed Chase's hands and they went into two changing booths.
Chase came out in a loose dress shirt with shorts and sandals while Berry was wearing a skater dress with blue flowers on it and matching sandals, her hair was tied up in a nice ponytail, but her one eye was still covered.
"You look good." Chase said.
Berry got obviously uncomfortable.
"What? What did I say?"
"I hate compliments, don't ever do that again. I mean, unless I'm in a good mood, that's the only time when you can compliment me."
"Ok, why do you hate compliments?"
"They make me feel self weary of myself. Very."
"Oh." Chase said.
They were silent as they walked from the water to the edge of the beach. Right there, there were many beach houses beyond their eyes, people walking their pets, people playing frisbee, it almost looked like a normal beach town. Even the sky up ahead was blue.
"These are beach houses that everybody on the beach live in. As you can tell, these people are one of the most wealthiest and happiest truly in Candyland. There are about 10 streets or so, we're currently on Daffodil Street, the Main Street. Every place has a distinct smell, similar to their name, and what does Vanilla Wafer Beach smell like to you?"
Chase smelled the air.
"Just like Vanilla Extract."
"Exactly. This place might be possibly a very popular place around Candisons, especially in the summertime. People want to get out, get some ice cream, and go wave jumping at the beach."
Chase saw something in the distance, it looked like a rollercoaster.
"What is that?" He pointed up to the sky.
"Oh, I forgot to mention, there is an amusement park right here. Probably now, it's crowded and full of people, judging by the time of day. Well, um...."
Berry snuggled right by Chase's arm and looked nervous, she held his hand.
"Will you promise not to tell anybody this?"
"What is it?"
Berry gulped and looked around.
"Ok, this might sound super crazy but I actually have a fear of heights."
"What?"
"The thousands of times I jump out of a window are nothing, I'm just talking about those sky high rollercoasters, I can't do them."
"Oh, so it's a fear of EXTREME heights."
"Yep."
Berry seemed oddly tense and then she let go of Chase's arm.
"Hey, do you want to go swimming in the beach?" She asked.
"Why not? I'd be down to go!"
"Come on!"
Berry ran and Chase tried to run after her.
"Catch me if you can!" She teased.
"I'm going to get you!"
They met up at the beginning of the sand and they took off their clothes to reveal their bathing suits. Chase was wearing a pair of swim trunks while Berry had on a nice but sexy two piece that showed her figure well, she was a little boxy but had a bit of a waist.
They didn't care what each other wore and they ran straight into the waves.
The two of them always made sure to stand by each other, when a wave came, they jumped.
"Are we really the only people on the beach?" Chase looked around.
"Yeah, this is normal. People think it's too hot to go to the beach now, if it was like 10 in the morning, then people would be here. Or actually, this is the hottest part of the beach. Nobody really comes to the beach during the afternoon."
Berry jumped a wave and Chase got slammed by the water of the wave. She laughed like a maniac.
"Oh, you're funny, Chase."
"These waves are crazy, are you sure that nature is really doing this naturally?"
"Uh, Duh. They are."
That's when Berry noticed something from the corner of her eye.
"Duck." She whispered.
"What?"
"Duck." She said louder."
"What do you mean?"
"I said Duck you idiot!"
She pulled Chase under the water with her without explanation and the boat gave a massive toot. It just passed by and for the first time, Chase could feel Berry trembling. He held her tight and they both held their breath for about 30 seconds.
Berry went up and looked around.
"I think we're clear."
"What was that?"
"My father's ship."
"I thought your dad never left the castle."
"That doesn't make him a good villain. He's probably not looking for me, but if he sees you or me, he's going to take us back to the castle. There was once a lady from the harem that escaped and because she was very very very sloppy, she got caught and brought back to the palace. You have to be precise with your adventure, sloppy and loud footsteps will get you caught. The amount of times that I was caught myself were scary enough. I was only so young and the thought of my father killing his own daughter because she was a moody teenager killed me."
"He goes on adventures?"
"Sometimes, and I mean sometimes, he likes to go out into his "perfect world" and see how things are going. If there is a problem that concerns your town or city, guess who's coming into town?"
