Dear Chase,
Meet me in the ballroom.
No, not the main one. Just when you exit your room, go all the way straight, make a left into the curtains, pass the private dining room, and there should be a set of glass doors once you pass a set of curtains or two.
I hope to meet you then.
Princess Berry of Candyland
P.S - Wear your princely suit, but just wear what you want, no cape required ;)Chase read the note.
"Is that so? It doesn't sound like Berry at all. But, it could be."
He went into his room and then changed into some princely gear. Nothing too fancy, but he looked like a classic fairytale prince. His hair fluttered as he walked through the hall. Every direction he followed and every way that he walked. Eventually, he opened the doors and was welcomed by a large staircase that went down with the sound of their feet.
Chase went down the stairs and was marveled by the sky high walls and the light gold brush on the walls made the atmosphere of the room. The floor was a white wood. Suddenly, a few musicians were playing music out of nowhere. It started with a piano.
"You know, there is something that I always wanted to do."
Chase looked up and heard a voice. That's when he saw Berry at the foot of the staircase, holding a railing. Her hair was a little straighter than usual, her neck was bare, and she was wearing a baby blue strapless ball gown, one that was a little poofy, but not as poofy as Taffy's dresses.
"This is so not like me to be like this, but you know, it's something that I always wanted to do. I read many fairytale books, such as Cinderella and beauty and the beast, and there has always been that fantasy waltz and dance that they do. And, I always wanted to dance with somebody... oh what am I saying?"
She started going down the stairs.
"I always wanted that intimate dance, with nobody staring at us. Just us and the world, and I wanted to do it with not just anybody. So you're probably wondering, why me? I think I just trust you enough that I know you'll never leave. Maybe that sounds a little bit too clingy, but can you blame me? A girl can dream."
She stopped in front of Chase and then smiled.
"So, would you like to dance with me?"
"The pleasure is mine."
Chase started to lead the dance even though Berry was the one who asked.
The music in the background started to play a little louder, that's when Chase pulled Berry closer to him.
"You know you do look good in a ball gown."
"And you look good in some princely garments."
"Eh, I'm not trying."
"To be honest, if Candyland just had the basic outfits, then it wouldn't be that bad. It's just overkill. I know it's supposed to be a status of power, but it feels like too much."
"You would focus more on the next battle than the way that your flowers all around the garden."
"Brains over looks, that's what I prefer."
"I guess I'm a little different."
"I like guys who are nice too, guys who let me do my own thing. I mean, a guy with a little bit of dominance is kind of cute too."
"Who says that I can't be dominant?"
"Guess somebody is bold tonight." Berry smirked to him.
"Oh, you know. We're both bold tonight. Even with this dance."
Chase suddenly stumbled and then stepped on Berry's foot.
"Owww.... way to ruin the mood." She said softly.
"Suddenly, you're soft like butter."
"You got me at my weak spot. If I wasn't in a ball gown, then I'd beat you up."
"Is that a threat or a request?"
"Now you're getting ahead of yourself."
"You say that a girl can dream, but what about a guy?"
"I guess I taught you a thing or two."
In the next dance, Berry led Chase as they waltz around in extensive and short circles.
"You really know how to Dance considering that you're not a party goer."
"Oh believe me, being a royal taught me everything. From sweet talking an enemy to ballroom dancing in complex patterns, it just comes naturally."
"I can tell that you can seduce anybody with your skills. But, I have a question, did you do this with your first love?"
Berry looked down.
"No, I never took him to the castle. At the time, I was too scared to face my dad. But, you know what? Fuck that. I fell in love for the first time and I didn't know what to do."
"It was love at first sight for the two of you, huh? What about me?"
"You took some time to warm up to. But, you do seem like a pretty decent guy."
"And you are this out of this world girl."
"Damn, you are really a flatterer."
"I have more surprises up my back."
"Like what?"
"This."
Chase pulled Berry in for a long kiss on the lips. He wouldn't pull back.
"This is a dangerous game, but I like the feeling of danger, considering that I never felt this kind of way before."
"Guess when you like something, you get addicted and fall in deeper with every second."
Berry stroked his cheek.
"Don't worry, I'm normally not an easy target to win over, but you got me."
"Really?"
"You have me, but do you have my everything? Not really."
Berry pulled him for another passionate kiss, and when she pulled back, that's when she realized something. She suddenly froze and then looked away.
"What's wrong?" Chase asked.
"Nothing."
That's when a thought poked from the back of her head, and she started to prepare a spell. She looked back at Chase with hurt and regret in her eyes.
She closed her eyes and then extended her hand out at Chase, to where her fingertips were pointing right at him.
"Urieli Rendezvous."
