Not So Sweet Candyland

XXXIV: Home Ground

"Get away from me!" Berry uppercut a woman in the jaw as she was getting surrounded by more and more. Chase used a gun to fire at everybody that was coming his way. Berry looked over her shoulder.

"Nice, Chase! You're actually defending yourself for once!"

Berry threw a masked person on the ground and intimidated them. She then grabbed her knives, quickly grinded on them, and stabbed them in the heart. She smirked at them while Chase was keeping the ground safe and getting them away from Berry.

Chase picked up Berry and started to swing her around with her legs. Everybody who was in a circle fell instantly, Berry let herself go and took out a knife for each hand, going from person to person, she stabbed everybody and soon they fell down.

Chase used guns and that's when he shot for the trees and scared the spies away. Just like mice, they scattered and got scared.

He put his gun away and turned around to Berry.

"You know that violence is not always the answer."

Berry flipped her hair up.

"This is a kill or be killed kind of world. Believe me, if I did not have to risk my life in this place, then I would be the person who does the pacifist route."

"Really? You're peaceful?"

"Haha. Very funny. No, even though that I might seem violent and cold, I really do have a heart. It's not like I'm obsessed with killing. I do it to save my life, and yours."

"Are you saying that as a friend?"

Berry laughed.

"Would you call me a friend? Or, more like a nagging mother?"

"You can be a pain sometimes, but everybody can be a pain in the ass. When I met you, you were bad. You're getting better now, I'm just used to boys not listening to me because I'm a girl. And, do you know what happened to them? They died or got kidnapped. I just hate that people doubt my abilities. All because of something so simple."

Chase sighed.

"I guess we're in the same boat."

"People doubt your abilities?"

"Well, I actually forgot about it until now, but first off... can we get away from these dead bodies, they are really freaking me out."

"Oh yeah, I forgot about them."

They moved away from the dead bodies and deeper into the thick woods.

"What is it that you want to tell me, Chase?"

"Well, there is one thing that I'm good at, but I need to use your magic skills for this one."

Berry rolled her eyes.

"Why do you need my magic?"

"To show you my talent, the one thing that I can do well."

"Go on."

"I can skate. Like, skateboarding, ever heard of skateboarding?"

"I know what you're talking about."
