The next place that Berry and Chase walked in to was a town. It was a peaceful, quiet, but mellow town. There was a train station at the middle of the town where people would constantly come in and outside of, and most of them were couples.
"Long distance relationships."
"What?"
"We're in a town called Peanut Butter Town. This, along with another town called Jelly Town are known as the long distance relationship areas, at least in Candyland standards. If you were from Peanut Butter Town and you met a girl from Jelly Town, you two would take the train to meet each other."
"Is it like a subway?"
"Yep. People are constantly coming in and out of the train station, it's the busiest part of the town actually, actually of both towns."
"Oh, I get it, Peanut Butter and Jelly Town. You're the peanut butter to my jelly. That's kind of cute."
Berry giggled.
That's when she started to hold Chase's hand.
"What are you doing?"
"We're in a lovey doves town, so why not act like we are lovers? We won't drag suspicion on why we're here. Got it?" Berry winked at Chase and that's when they both turned red.
"Just don't be embarrassing, please."
"I won't be the embarrassing one in this situation, partner." Berry winked again.
"Winking won't get you anywhere."
"Aww, but you turned as red as a Cherry when I winked, so you can't deny that I'm not a bad flirt. Can you?"
She snuggled on to Chase's arm.
"Now, you're the one acting like a baby."
"Hey! I'll tell you where to go, and you just impress people with your magical presence or something like that."
Berry and Chase started to walk and that's when Berry told Chase to stop at a little peanut shop.
The shop was decorated in little peanut craftables and toys and collectibles. Chase sneezed.
"Are you allergic to peanuts or something?"
"I think I was younger, but that was it."
"Good, you're the one dragging too much attention to us."
They walked through the shop, but they found nothing of value.
"Oh baby, I think there is that new restaurant that couples have been raving about! Let's go!" Berry grabbed Chase by his arm and the two of them left that shop.
At the restaurant, there were many couples enjoying a meal together, somebody was singing to their partner, and most of them were engaged in positive conversation.
"Gosh, I have never seen so many couples in my life here."
"Oh waiter!" Berry flagged down a waiter and managed to get the last table for two.
"So, what are we doing at a restaurant?" Chase asked.
"This is where our next clue is. Check this out, look at this secret menu. You just have to slide one of the pages of the menu out, and voila, Check out all of these dishes! You never seen peanut brûlée or peanut butter and vanilla together."
"But still, how will it get us anywhere?"
"Easy. All of the waiters here know a code language with by making snaps with your hands. If you make the right finger language with them, then they might give you something."
"wait wait wait wait wait, you're telling me you want me to finger a waiter?"
"No, you pervert. I meant that you need to use your fingers and snapping skills in order to get something special. It will help us on our adventure."
"But, how do you know this?"
"It's in the Unofficial Book of Portal Jumping, Page 214, paragraph 16, words 486-767."
"And somebody from Licorice City made that book?"
"Yep, it's very good. If you like reading, you should probably check out that book."
"You sound sarcastic while saying that."
Berry giggled.
"The One time that I'm not being sarcastic, you think that I'm sarcastic. You're a funny one, Chase Villanova."
"Bold of you to call me by my last name when I don't even know yours."
Berry snickered.
"There are some things that should be kept a secret until time goes on and on. It's a secret for another day."
"What about your full name?"
"If you really want to know, my unofficial name is Vanessa O'Leary. I take my mother's last name because I am her child and she did not wed my father. Ugh, where's is this waiter?"
Berry spilled her drink on purpose and pretended to cry.
A waiter came right by and that's when Berry started doing some odd snapping patterns. The waiter noticed and that's when he handed what looked like a receipt but in reality, it was two train tickets.
"Train tickets?"
"On the train of love." Berry took each one out and noticed that there were two little poems on each one, even if you rearranged them, they would still make sense.
Chase examined his ticket.
"It says that the train is about to depart in 5 minutes."
"I know, that's why we're going to be leaving now. We have a way to go before the train station and the lines to get on. Imagine trying to find a seat when there is always somebody taking up a three seater because they are so nervous that they need like 3 seats worth of seats to rest?"
"I always hated when people on the bus would take a whole row to themselves." Chase added.
They left the outdoor dining as quick as they could and they went down the stairs of the train station to where the subway was.
Romantic music was playing as many people were couples, either going on dates or meeting for the first time.
Berry noticed the train that they needed to go on from afar and she dragged Chase all the way over there. They boarded the train and they found a nice comfortable seat.
"Where are we even going?"
"We're going to the other half of the sandwich, you know what I'm talking about."
"There's a sandwich town?"
"No, you butthead. I'm talking about Jelly Town."
"Oh, now I get it."
The train started to move and they started to head to Jelly City.
