"No." Chase caught Berry's arm.
"What?"
"No. I am not letting you erase this memory. Not now, not ever. Why would you even want to erase that memory from me?"
"I-I don't know."
"What is it, Berry? What really is it?"
"You shouldn't have seen this cheesy side of me. This stupid side of me, I just wanted to do this once. Look, I'll leave. I'm sorry for wasting your time."
She started to leave, but Chase caught her hand and pulled her.
"What are you doing.?"
"Something that I should've done a long time ago."
"What do you mean? Hey! Put me down!"
Chase picked up Berry and grabbed her, carrying her bridal style. Up the staircase, and past all of the curtains and back to Chase's room. Where Chase laid her on the bed and then stared at her.
"What are you doing?"
That's when Chase looked away.
"Look, I bet you can understand that the two of us are confused about all of this."
"Very."
"But look. I don't know how to say this, and I want to say it now. Before anything terrible happens to either of us."
He took a deep breath and then looked down.
"Berry of Vanessa, however you want to be called, I may or may not like you. Feelings like this can get me carried away. And, I would also like to apologize in case you don't line being called Berry. I will call you Vanessa from now on if you like."
Berry just smirked.
"I always found it cute that you called me Berry."
"It was always an instinct thing." Chase scratched his head.
"You're cute when you get shy like that." Berry started taking her heels off and then throwing them on the floor.
"Guess you made yourself at home."
"I do. And you know what? Guess what? I like you too." Berry crawled to him and then pulled him down on the bed.
"Guess somebody is feeling a little daring tonight."
Berry just looked and smirked.
"I'm only a tease, you know that I'm a tease."
"Whatever you say, you have me right by a string."
Berry laughed.
"How sweet of you. Do you always let girls be the tops?"
"Now's not the time to talk about things like these."
"Then, what are we? Are we a couple? Or, are we in that awkward stage that some call "talking"?" Berry looked down at Chase.
"I guess whatever you want it to be, just let me know and I'll be it."
Berry smirked.
"What a good boy, I can tell your parents raised you right."
"But Berry, why is it me that you like when you seem to like the more aggressive emo and edgy boys that will give you daddy issues?"
"Sometimes, you'll want a new object in for example, lime green. But then, you realize that you like the light brown more. It's called seeing the real thing and not making judges on just the little things. I don't really care about looks that much, even if you think that I do."
"Figures."
"You focus on looks?"
"Me? No. Others that I knew? Yes. They only saw me as decent looking enough to stalk me in the halls for and then when they had me, they only used me to boost their image."
Berry went down on him even more.
"I guess pretty privilege exists for you."
"Bold of you to get all up in my face just like that."
"I'm just looking at your nice features. Ah yes, your nose that isn't too sharp and your small mouth, and those brown eyes."
"Are you being sarcastic?"
"Why would I be?"
"Apparently, I am a very obvious example of a human."
"That's because you look very normal looking. I don't see you as average, you just need somebody to let you open up more."
"And that's you."
"No." She rolled right by Chase.
"This journey is a self discovery for not just me but for you. What were you doing all of your days of your life? Just living your life as a passerby? This journey helped you learn more about yourself and become stronger. As for me, I made a friend for once, and now, I don't want to lose you. More than a friend, it's more than you think."
Berry held Chase's cheek and then looked away.
"This is the closest I ever had to feeling that happy feeling that everybody feels. My problem is that I don't want to be like Taffy or make you always live in this world. I mean, in Candyland standards, you would just have to buy a ring and then propose to me, and a wedding would be made within a month. But, that is something that neither I or you want to face. I still have a world to explore and I don't want to be forced into that unsatisfying life of being a wife and mother, I just can't see it yet."
"You want to leave, I know that."
"I like this feeling when I'm with you. I like you a lot. But, I don't want to get married anytime soon. I know you feel the same way. I feel kind of like Candyland made me imagine the worst with love.... with Taffy and mom, how Taffy got married too young and my mother.... you already know the story."
Chase touched her hand.
"I know how you feel. Always."
Berry smiled.
"You do?"
"Of course I do. A bond has to have both people supporting each other, even if they clashed. You're just a very captivating person and you can be the center of attention within seconds, even if you don't want to. That's what I like about you."
"The shy guys seem to like the bold girls."
"And more. You're so badass and can I say it?"
"Yeah."
"Kind of sexy."
Berry turned red and a little flustered.
"And why that?"
"The way that you exist.. it's like a sexy presence."
"Well, thank you for that. And you don't have to that flustered about something like that anymore."
"It just feels weird saying that to an actual girl and they don't get offended."
