A small walk from Ice Cream Town, there is a development up north. Snow falls there, but not often. The development is the most diverse in terms of aesthetic and housing. The Pastelle Development.
"Isn't Pastel cake in Spanish?"
"You say Pastel like it's a cake. And well, you're kind of right, but you're wrong."
"How?"
"Welcome.... to Pastelle Development."
Berry swung open the gates to reveal a collection of tightly knit houses. But this time, the houses were all different shades of colors, all very light shades.
"Yeah, these houses are made out of cake. But, they have different colors, which makes it different from the other developments. A development with somewhat of some diversity. That's just how it is. Candyland overall is a very diverse place, but the people can be the same. Long story short, no matter what happens, everybody in the development are just like clones with no brains."
"Can't you just give them a chance?"
"I tried, Chase. I tried. That's all I can say. You know how hard that I try, but no matter what, I just can't do it. For now, all I can do is pass right by them and anything I say, they will forget within a certain time or as soon as we get the hell put of here."
"But, what's the point of even cutting through here?"
"It's a change of scenery and a detour or shortcut or whatever that your heart wants to call it because I don't know anymore. I just want to get out of here."
"I mean, Berry... I never whined but like this is not like you at all."
"I'm tired, ok? Can you give me a break for once in my life? Please?"
"Not saying that I'm not, I'm tired too. What do we even need?"
That's when Berry started laughing in her laughter and then she lost her emotions for a second.
"As bright and colorful this place is, I'm tired of the world with the same perfect colors and the same this and that. I want to see a world that has it's imperfections, it has it's diversity, and it has its problems. A perfect world get boring overtime, and then there go the thrived that are mistaken as being raised wrong when in reality, they are bored out of their minds. They have everything, money doesn't exist, and well, unless living your same old daily life is your dream or something, then there really isn't much to do. Also, keep in mind the stupid rules my father makes don't help them at all. And either he's bored of living his life, or just wants some action to go on. Like, do you have rules for staying inside your town for the rest of your life unless you have a business note?"
"We do have something called quarantine, where you have to stay in your house and rot with the rest of your family and then go for each other's throat."
"That sounds terrible. But, I guess not all real world things are as good as they seem."
"I mean, the more that I look at this world, the more I can understand from your point of view that it does have something off with it. Everything is too perfect, everywhere is too quiet, and nobody seems to be having a fight with anybody else. I mean, us humans are considered a chaotic and destructive type of species. We take our prey and use it for our personal gain. What I'm trying to say is that humans and candisons don't have that much in differences."
"You think so?"
That's when Berry and Chase walked by a hair salon.
"Wait a second, I have a question, and I will need your hair for it."
"Wait, what?"
Berry pulled Chase in to a salon where there was a hairdresser reading a magazine.
"Ah! Come on in! What can I do for you two?"
"Do you know how to check to see what had would be like in the human world and vise versa?" Berry asked.
"Say no more, who would like to come and take a seat first?"
"You can." Chase said politely.
"Thank you." Berry nodded and that's when she took a seat. The hairdresser examined her hair and raised an eyebrow.
"Is your hair dyed by any chance?"
"Yep."
"I can tell. What did you use to dye or hair?"
"Licorice Capsules."
"Oh! You did this on your own. And that blue streak, is that your natural Candyland hair color?"
Berry nodded.
"Let me see." The hairdresser got a magazine.
"Judging by your hair's natural texture and the original color of it, you were born with very dark brown hair, but with the licorice capsules, this could change to black of you still choose to keep to add the licorice capsules to your hair."
"Really?"
"You know that hair genetics can be randomly generated?"
"I did."
"Great. Next up, the guy."
Berry and Chase switched places and that's when the hairdresser examined Chase's hair.
"This is not a normal texture. Are you a human by any chance?"
"I am in fact."
She paused for a moment.
"Wow, I never knew a human was here. I guess, you're trying to get yourself out of here. You're probably so scared and-..."
"Just examine his hair. Jeez." Berry said from the couch.
"She doesn't have to be that ride of something like that." The hairdresser murmured from under her breath.
The hairdresser felt the hair and looked through her magazine again.
"Your hair is something I am not so sure on, but if so, you would have like a crimson red as your hair color, and your eyes would still be brown. I think I heard something that if you stay in Candyland for a year, your hair will turn in to caryson, the hair cells for people in Candyland. If you want to keep your hair, do it: if you want to stay, do it."
The hairdresser bent down and whispered in his ear.
"It's all up to YOU."
