Berry opened the curtains that fell apart as soon as she yanked them opened, which revealed a bridge like platform without anywhere to hold on or to go, just a straight path that seemed to go on forever, but in the distance, there was a small gleam of pink light, Berry looked in the distance.

"That's it, that's the portal."

She squinted her eyes to see the same light that she could have seen in a dream. To her, this was the final destination, this was the one thing in life that she had been waiting for, she stopped in place, marveled at the treasure that she could finally see.

"Uh..... should we be going now?" Chase tugged her arm.

"Oh yes, right."

They were at the top of a rocky staircase, and Berry slid down to where the bottom was, she looked around at the room of rock, how it once was a massive ballroom where lavish parties were held for all to come, now, there was a massive hole that went straight as if somebody broke in. Berry took the chance and her feet went running. Chase had to catch up with her pace as Berry's heart rate went up more and more.

Suddenly, Berry stopped and she became uneasy.

"Now that I think about it, I never heard about this area before, it's like it was hidden for a reason." Berry looked straight and the pink light was only just a little bit closer. She started to use a mind spell and became lost in a trance.

"I see, so this was originally a secret room, a sage created this portal, but its only opened every 6-8 years. It was hidden so that the sage could do his own work with his magic, the face is blurry, but with the clothes that he's wearing, it is most definitely a sage."

Berry got out of the trance.

"Well, it might not seem like a long distance, but it honestly is a long distance, considering that there are many obstacles to face."

"Obstacles?"

"Did you really think that we would walk a straight path and jump into the portal? No, that's not it. Jeez, you don't understand anything. Oh, but who cares? Let's just keep on moving."

They started to run down the straight line that would lead them to the portal that could send Chase back home. However, as soon as they escaped the walls of the rocky ballroom, that's when a cannonball came out of nowhere and shot right in front of them.

"What was that?"

"Many obstacles like this will come your way, just don't get hit by them and you're on your way."

"Um, ok."

They started to run and many obstacles were attempting to get in their way, from blue fireballs to icicles made out of widow's dew, everything was getting in their way. Just when there was a patch of calm, suddenly, arms from an eel started to wrap around them, and they were starting to suffocate.

The worst part was the eel could cancel their magic so they would be rendered almost useless.

"AARGH!" Berry screamed for help as she was suffocating.

Chase looked at her and saw that she was starting to give up.

"What makes you think that you can give up? Berry, you are the last person that should give up. Look how far you have come and you know what? If it wasn't for you, then I would be dead meat in this world. Just because something is limiting you doesn't mean that you can't do nothing with the skills that you have, Berry please, you have to listen to me."

Berry just held her head down.

"Bold of you to assume such things, how you can't give up, just stop it, the only thing that matters is that you make it out alive."

"That's all you say, every single thing. I want you to come too with me."

"Chase, I don't deserve it."

"It doesn't matter if you deserve it or not, at the end of the day, you are human as well, and if you can't be the one that saves me..."

Chase pulled out a knife from his leg and cut the eel, he fell out and his magic came back, where he started to swipe strokes of a knife to cut the eel.

"Then I'll be the one that saves you."

The eel broke and Berry fell, caught by Chase in his arms.

"Come on, we still have a long way to go."

He took Berry's hand and they started to run, now more than ever, they were confident in what they were doing, they dodged everything that came in their path and with their magic back, they could now use stronger than strong magic fields and run through without a scratch on their bodies.

Right when they were near the portal, at the top of a royal staircase.

"You know, Chase. I have to admit something to you, about this journey, and I know that you might not like what comes out of my mouth."

She took a deep breath.

"Truthfully, when I go on this journey, it's like a test of love, I know where everything is, but I wanted to see if somebody like you would be patent enough to go on this journey with me. It was a test, of mind, body, and patience and I'm glad that you made it all this way with me, but I know that you had some struggles with it, and if you hate me and you want to give up, then just go. But, at the same time, I can't deny my feelings for you, I know you are not my type 100%, but you not giving up and your submissive nature, damn. What am I saying, fuck! I like you, and thank you for saving me, even though I prefer to do the saving. I hope innocent pretty pink princesses are not your type, because I am not one of them."

Berry kissed Chase.

"Well, I like you too."

Berry started to smile and get all giddy.

"I know that you're a tough girl on the outside, but I know you still have some girly quirks about you."

"Stop it!" She slapped Chase's arm playfully.

He laughed and then looked at the portal.

"Is this really the dimension that will get me back home?"

"Hopefully, the portal is the one thing that I don't know anything about. If we die or make it alive, that's up for debate."

They walked up the stairs and started to go near the portal.

"Are you ready?" Berry asked.

"I am."

They closed their eyes and jumped into the pink portal.
