XXXI: To Trick a Two Lips

Their journey had now led them to an unknown area with a pop up bar.

A pop up bar? You know that they world changes? Like, it morphed from plains to forest within a night.

Berry was chatting with a bartender and a few old men while Chase looked out at the window. It suddenly started to rain. Berry noticed this place and immediately decided to go in to get some food and drink, bathroom, and more.

She was playing a card game with the people at the bar, and the bartender.

"Ever heard of "To Trick a Two Lips?" The game where the imposter and somebody else have a card? You're probably wondering, how do you play it? Well, there is a card imposter, and the person had their own separate deck where their cards have tiny differences on them at first, but then they get more obvious as time goes on. When you find the imposter cards, you have to find out who does not have that card in their deck. If they don't, then they are the card imposter." Berry explained.

"Can we play go fish instead? It sounds kind of like the disco version of go fish."

"Are you sure that you didn't just make that you just now? Because, it sounds made up."

"I grew up where fancy card games were played, and these games make you feel classy. Simply just learn the rules of the game or be left out in the dust. What else can I tell you?"

"Sweetie, you know that we're all 81 and 71, not 17 and 18." One of the old men said to her.

"Just because you're old doesn't mean you can't learn new things and lose all of your energy and motivation for life. I know that it's hard at times, and believe me, a young person like me can feel like that all of the time. What I'm saying is that you should never give up on living, because every bad thing in life will come with two good things." Berry slammed her hand on the table.

Chase got alarmed by that sound and he went up to see what Berry was doing.

"Hey, is everything ok?" He asked softly.

"Yeah, I'm just giving these dudes some motivation to keep on living."

Berry cleared her throat.

"Let me continue. I get it, this world is shit. If you hate it so much and your hate everybody and everything, why not leave and go to the human world? There's so much that they have to offer and plus, you can eat other food groups and save your sanity, as long as you are up for one final adventure. This dude right here and I are on an adventure to get him back home. And, it hasn't been easy at times. Trust me, even me being full of life and not full of experience, I'll tell you that."

Berry jumped on the counter and she looked down.

"Wait a second."

She looked around and that's when a sudden panic and suspicion rose over her.

The old men looked up at Berry.

"Guess the Princess decided to show herself."

"Those are some nice C's that you got there."

"Oh, and I can't even imagine what kind of underwear that she's wearing."

"Who are you people?" Berry suddenly started to panic.

"Nobody special."

"Actually, we're a group of spies, here to find you and bring you back to your father, along with the human."

"I knew it!" Chase said.

And that's when one of the old men took out a taser and the others grabbed Berry by her chest and legs.

"I'm going to rail a princess tonight, I'll tell you that!"

"And doll her up in a big ball gown."

Berry started to squirm and that's when one of the old men looked at Chase.

"What are you going to do about it, human?"

That's when Berry finally squirmed out and she pulled out a gun.

"Oh? She's got a gun. You can't shoot us even if you wanted to. You have witnesses!"

"That isn't very ladylike, you know. Your father didn't raise you like this."

"I'm like not my father. I'm like my mother!"

Before she pulled the trigger, she changed into a different person. Her hair was now brown and her eyes were grey, the same grey that they were glowing. Her body changed a lot and she was wearing clothes made for a queen.

Everybody stopped.

"Queen Marissa?!"

"I thought she went missing!"

"This can't be! Is this what happened to the queen?"

"I thought she died!"

"Nobody knows what happened to her, but this is scary. Even if it is not her, it looks
Strikingly similar."

"Who even are you?" The man with the taser pointed at her.

"I'm-I'm.... AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" Berry started shaking and she was alternating from Marissa to Berry and back again. Over and over and over.

That's when there was a loud noise and the roof flew off of the diner.

"Chase! Run! I don't know what's happening!"

"I can't leave you like this!"

"Go, you fucking idiot! The only point of my mission is to save you, and not me!"

"But you matter as well."

"That doesn't matter! Get out!"

Chase looked back one more time at Berry and ran out of what was left of the diner. It was that time when everything suddenly froze, and there was a magical curse in the air.

Beyond scared was Chase, he was too nervous to do anything, even watch.

That's when he felt a large gust of wind against his face and he couldn't keep them open, along with the scream of Berry. He couldn't watch and couldn't distract himself from the world.

He quickly opened his eyes to take a sneak peak and the diner was gone, and Berry was gone.

"Is she gone?"

He heard a scream coming from above him and looked up. Berry was in the air.

"I'll catch you!"
