The days passed quietly in the Hotchner house, compared to what Bella was used to. And Friday had arrived.
Bella and Jack had spent the morning at a nearby playground. They watched a movie that afternoon as it had begun to rain and ordered a pizza for supper.
"I'm home," Mr. Hotchner says walking in.
"We're in the kitchen," Bella calls out. "You eaten yet?"
"No, got off the plane and came straight here." He says setting down his go bag and walking into the kitchen.
"Well, we have barbecue chicken pizza with pineapple." Bella says getting up from her seat at the table. "And sugar cookies for dessert."
"Well, how can I pass that up." Aaron says sitting down next to his son at the table after getting a plate from the cabinet. He grabs a slice as Bella returns to the table with a plate of cookies.
She sets it down after making sure Jack had eaten a decent amount of the pizza slice he had wanted. She gave him a cookie and took two for herself. "So how are you settling in?"
"Fine. I spoke with Auror Smith on Tuesday and Miss. Emaline Goode. Miss. Emaline has agreed to go shopping in the magical market place with us tomorrow. I also got my room figured out. However, I have been unable to find the time to call my magical guardian."
"Why not?"
"I've been settling in. You have no idea what the benefits of magic can do. I kept the room pretty Muggle friendly, but redecorated it. I reviewed my books from first to fifth year, did the homework from the professors, and read all my sixth year textbooks."
"Bella, I don't think that the reason you haven't called your magical guardian is because you've been busy. You're scared, why?" She remains silent and nibbles on her bottom lip. "Bella."
"Let's just say that my magical guardian and I do not have the best relationship. He mentally abused me during my years at Hogwarts. Saying I was just like my father, a rule breaker and an idiot."
"Well, you can't avoid calling him forever, so you might as well get it out of the way. Try talking to him calmly. It might be easier since it is over the phone."
Bella sighs but nods her head in agreement. "I'll see if I can get through to him now. It isn't that late. If not I'll call in the morning." She stands up and heads to her room.
She looks over her room as she walks in. It is slightly bigger than her former cell at the Dursleys but not extravagant She had used no room expansion charms. She had changed the once cream colored walls to a Slytherin green with the one behind the ebony bed he had gotten her being a silverish gray.
The desk and bookshelf were also ebony and a door to the right upon entering the room was opposite both the desk and bookshelf and led to a walk-in closet that she had filled with her muggle clothing. She had also put her suitcase in there. However her trunk rested at the foot of her bed, the key hung around her neck. Well a key, it does not have a key. Just a spoken password. Her sheets were Slytherin green with silver trim, custom made.
She went and collapsed on her bed, pulling her phone out as she moved across the room. She sighs once again and unlocked the phone, pressing the contacts she just found Snape's name when the phone began to ring. She looked at the caller ID in surprise. Snape was calling her.
The dread in her stomach grew but she answered. "Hello, professor."
"Potter," came the cold reply.
Might as well start there. "Not anymore, sir."
"What do you mean 'not anymore.'"
"I mean I got my name changed. I am no longer Hyacinth Lillian Potter." She said, trying to control her anger. "I had my name changed. You honestly think I would say I am leaving Wizarding Britain and not be smart enough to cover my tracks?"
"That would be the Gryffindor thing to do."
"Good thing I was meant to go into Slytherin. I just had to argue with that hat though."
"Perhaps you are less like your father than I thought."
"Yeah, you never tried to get to know me, just jumped straight to conclusions."
"Dumbledor said you were being treated like a Princess."
"Yeah and he told me that the only vault I had at Gringotts was my education vault. He was stealing from me, feeding me potions, casting compulsions on me, paying my relatives to abuse me, and he had placed multiple blocks on me."
"Hmm, at least neither of us will have to put up with him any longer, the old fool. I turned in my resignation letter a few days ago and have gotten permission from my lord to move away from Britain. He will continue to push for his goals, but more politically now. I have made him my liason in the Wizengomet."
"I read his goals, the goblins were kind enough to send me a copy. I must say I agree with every single one of them." Her anger fading away. "I might just make him my liaison as well."
"So, you're not Dumbledor's Golden Girl?"
"Only when under extreme compulsions and loyalty potions." She hears him let out a sigh. "I have this distinct feeling you are not alone on that end of the phone."
"No. I was to… nervous to call you. Tom said I needed to and agreed to remain in the room with me for moral support."
"And here I am being all nervous by myself." She says playfully. "Perhaps you could put this call on speaker?"
She hears him pull the phone away from his head and moments later a loud thunk as he sets it down. "Hello, can you both hear me now?"
"Hello, Miss… what is your name now?"
"Belladonna Rowena Le Faye."
"One famous last name to another."
"Didn't have much choice, of all the houses that I am lady of, they are each famous in their own way."
Just then, there is a knock on her door. "One moment, gentlemen." She mutes the phone. "Yes?"
Mr. Hotchner pokes his head in. "Jack is in bed. I'm going to bed. You finish up this call quickly. Miss. Emalime will be here in the morning for the shopping and I want to take you and Jack to dinner at Rossi's tomorrow evening. He invited the entire team."
"Got it, sir. Good night."
"Good night." He smiles at her and closes the door behind him.
She unmutes the phone. "Okay, I'm back."
"So, what houses are you lady of?" Tom asks.
"Potter, Le Faye, Emyrs, Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Flamel, Peverell, and Black."
"Wow, the amount of power you alone hold in the Wizengamot is astounding." Severus says.
"Thanks," Bella drawls. "And, I, Belladonna Rowena Le Faye, hereby make Thomas Marvolo Riddle liaison to the houses of Potter, Le Faye, Emyrs, Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Flamel, Peverell and Black."
"On a different note, where are you? You have all of Wizarding Britain in some sort of panic."
"Good, they deserve it for what they put on my shoulders at such a young age. Also, I'm with the person my parents named my third possible guardian. Aaron Hotchner. My parents believed him to be a muggle, funny enough. No, he is a squib with a three year old wizard for a son. Anyway, I've got to go. We have plans for in the morning and I need to get some sleep. Bye."
"Bye."
