Bella upon realizing she barely has any homework makes a quick decision and decides to visit Snape. She says bye to her friends and heads down to the dungeons.
She knocks on his classroom door and it is quickly opened. “Miss. Le Faye to what do I owe the pleasure of your company?”
“I just wanted to get to know my magical guardian better, since I don’t really have any homework today. I was hoping we could talk for a little while at least,” She says, looking down at her hands.
“My office then,” he says waving her into the room.
“Do you two mind if I join you?” Miss. Goode says from behind Bella. “I just want to know how you are settling into life at Ilvermorny.”
“Certainly,” Snape says after Bella looks at him and they all make their way to his office where he has a pot of tea going. “Tea?”
“Yes, please, thank you,” both females reply. taking a seat in the two chairs in front of the desk.
He fixes three cups of tea before taking a seat behind the desk. “So, why don’t we start with how well we are settling into lie at Ilvermorny.” Snape says, after taking a sip of his tea. “I’d say it’s going pretty well. There are more students in the halls than what Hogwarts had but I must say without the headmasters ever loaming presence I don’t really mind. I don’t get nearly as many headaches as I used to. And I like that no one here treats me with suspicion just because of which house I was sorted into at eleven.”
“Well, that’s not good. I imagine it also takes some getting used to not teaching every grade level now, just sixth and seventh years.”
“Yes, but I quite enjoy it and the other potions masters and mistresses occasionally come to me for help on a potion of their own.” Snape says.
“And what about you, Bella? How are you enjoying Ilvermorny?” Emalline says turning to the only student in the room.
“Oh, I quite like it. I only have to worry about four classes per semester rather than eight. I don’t have to worry about taking a class unless I’m interested in it or it will help me in the career I want. I don’t get lost one the way from one class to another due to moving staircases. I like the fact that I can go home at night and don’t have to stay in the school for months on end.”
“That may be true but I just saw you walk out of the dorms this morning,” Miss. Emalline says.
“Yes, Mr. Hotchner is currently out of town on a case so Jack is staying with Mrs. JJ’s family while I decided to stay in the dorms for now. He should be back tomorrow, so I’ll be going home after school tomorrow,” Bella explains, sipping her tea.
“That’s good to hear. Now, I’ll let you two catch up. I’m going to go deal with the paperwork in my office.” She says, setting her cup down and leaving.
“Well, what would you like to discuss.” Snape asks.
“This and that. At Hogwarts, you were so hostile toward me and I know my dad bullied you, but I honestly take you for more mature than he could ever be so I don’t really understand it.”
“I didn’t like your father for multiple reasons, his bullying of me being one of them, the fact he could get the headmaster to cover it up for him did not help. Then there was the fact that he became friends with your mother and pushed me away from her. But that is not the reason I was hostile toward you, I believed that if people believed that I had held onto my dislike to your father and pushed it onto you, that it would help protect you.”
“Okay?” Bella says, still a little confused before changing the subject. They discuss varies topics for a while, before Bella decides to go work on her homework and leaves with a good-bye.
