Bella dragged herself out of bed Thursday morning to Aaron knocking on her door. It is five by her phone and that leaves her an hour before she needs to be getting up. She opens the door of her room to see Aaron with his go back, which wakes her right up.
“Just got a call. Little girl kidnapped in Ohio. I need you to get Jack ready for school. Tell him I Love him and that I’m going to go save her and get her back to her family. I already called Emalline to get him to school since you have never been there before. Go with them if you want. I need to head down JJ and I are going to the airport together.”
“Okay, now go be a superhero,” Bella says, before closing her door to get dressed. She decides on jeans, a pair of green converse, a green tye-dye t-shirt in varying shades. Mitsy comes and does her hair in a french braid.
She grabs her bag and a black, crossbody purse for the day and heads down to the kitchen, where Dobby has already prepared breakfast for her and Jack. She puts her bags onto the couch and heads back up to wake Jack up.
She shakes him awake and he rubs the sleep out of his eyes before looking at her. “Where’s Daddy?”
“He had to go save a little girl in Idaho.” Bella says.
Jack smiles. “He’ll get her home safe and sound.”
“Yeah, he probably will. Do you want to pick your own clothes today?”
“I want to match you,” he says, sleepily. Bella smiles and grabs his matching shirt and a pair of jeans. She finds his green skechers in his closet. She sets the clothes on the bed, and walks out of the room. She heads back downstairs and waits for Jack to come down.
A knock sounds from the door and Bella goes to open it. “Good morning, Mrs. Emalline. Jack will be down soon, hopefully. Then he just needs to eat. Have you had breakfast this morning?”
“Yes, I have eaten this morning, but I wouldn’t mind some hot tea if you have it?”
“Mr. Aaron keeps some for me, since I’m not a big fan of coffee or that quick mix hot chocolate. I wish I could spend time with Uncle Remus and Uncle Surius, but it’s not safe with Dumbledor still on the loose.”
“Hopefully, that won’t be for too much longer. Shame he escaped custody, he could be absolutely anywhere. The ICW had to go arrest him because the British Ministry refused to and he no longer has any money with the Goblins due to how much he owed you correct?”
“Yes, I believe Ragnok’s words were ‘Unless he has money to deposit, he will have no business in our bank for a long time.’ Those were similar to his words for Ronald Weasley, Ginerva Weasley, and Molly Weasley.”
“Aunt Emalline,” Jack yells coming into the room. He tackles her with a hug. She laughs and picks him up carrying him to the kitchen so he and Bella can eat.
“Well, if there is any sign of Albus Dumbledor at all, everyone has been informed to stun him if possible and notify the MACUSA,” Emalline says, sipping on her tea.
“That’s good.” Bella says. “It would probably be best not to engage him in a duel if you can help it. “I’ve also taken precautions to make sure he can’t get anywhere near me. I have my mind protection necklace. I also found a set of earrings that will get warm if someone near me is using polyjuice or a glamour on.”
“That’s good.”
“Uncles Severus, Sirius, and Remus all have similar items, though from what I hear Uncle Severus was somewhat reluctant to wear any.”
“Yes, I noticed him wearing some jewelry last time we had tea. He reluctantly explained to me why he was wearing them. Like you his necklace protects his mind, but he has a ring that notifies him of polyjuice potion and glamour use. He was reluctant to wear the ring due to the fact that he isn’t supposed to wear it while brewing potions. I may have laughed at him and pointed out that as long as he can feel the ring warm up that he doesn’t need to wear it on his finger. He smirked as he slipped it onto the chain for his necklace.”
“Yeah, that sounds like him,” Bella says. “So, why did Mr. Aaron call you to take Jack to school? Couldn’t we take the floo?”
“Normally, yes, but the MACUSA is taking as many precautions when it comes to the youngest children as possible with Dumbledor on the loose. A floo can be used by anyone for a ‘public’ magical school. The wards at the school will react is someone fires a Killing Curse, but that’s about it. So the MACUSA has temporarily disabled the floo to all Magical Elementary schools. The wards only allow a person to apparate through them if they have a registered student of the school apparating with them, are blood related to a student of the school, or are the registered magical guardian of a student at the school, except of course for the faculty.”
“Well, that’s good. Um, but is there a way for me to apparate to the school and pick Jack up or will you need to do that?”
“That’s a very good question, let’s talk to the faculty.” She stands up, followed by Bella and Jack and heads to the living room where the two children collect their bags and Bella gives permission for Emalline to apparate from the house itself.
