Bella woke bright and early the next morning. She pulled on a pair of dark blue jeans and a nice green and silver t-shirt that read "Claimed by a Slytherin." She pulled on green and white sneakers and pulled her hair into a high ponytail with a green scrunchie.

She grabbed her school bag and hurried downstairs to the magical storage room where her broom was kept. She pulled it out and polished it after checking it for splinters and loose twigs. She got it ready to take to school with her.

She set it in the foyer with her school bag and went to the kitchen where Aaron was working on making scrambled eggs for breakfast. She grabs a couple cups from the cabinet and passes Aaron his morning cup of coffee, before turning to the refrigerator. She pulls out the chocolate milk as Jack runs into the kitchen.

She fills the two cups with chocolate milk and hands one to her God brother before putting the gallon jug away. Aaron serves the eggs and bacon with a slice of toast and the three of them sit down for breakfast.

"You're excited about something," Aaron says observing his goddaughter.

She smiles at him. "My house Quidditch team tryouts are today. So, I'll be getting home late. I really hope I make the team. The tryouts are generalized and then if I make the team, they'll put me in the spot that they believe I'm best suited for. I was seeker on the Gryffindor team at Hogwarts and we barely ever lost a game."

"Just be sure you keep up with your school work and have fun." Aaron says.

"I will, besides I'll be suspended from the team if I'm struggling in one of my classes. I asked the coach some questions when I went to the office to sign up." Bella says. "Apparently she attended Hogwarts as well and understands that the system works differently over there than over here. So she let me talk with her awhile about what it would mean to be on my house team here rather than there."

"Do I want to know?"

"I don't know, but I'll tell you anyway. At Hogwarts, usually a student isn't allowed to even try out for their house team until their second year when they can bring their own brooms to school. I however made my house team my first year due to an incident in my first flying class of the year. Here a first year can try out as long as they have had flying instruction prior to attending Ilvermorny from a professional flying instructor. Then after you make the house team at Hogwarts, you keep your spot. There is no chance of you losing your spot no matter what at Hogwarts. However at Ilvermorny if I am failing in a class I will be suspended from the team until I bring the grade up. Which I think is absolutely brilliant as it means that instead of just one player for the seeker position they need at least two. Along with two keepers, four beaters and six chasers."

"Beaters?! This Quidditch is beginning to sound dangerous."

"And American football isn't?" Bella says. "A beaters job is to keep the bludgers from attacking the other players in their team and to distract the palyers in the other team, especially the seekers since a seeker catching the snitch ends the whole game and gives a huge point boost to their team. Which depending on when it is caught can change the entire outcome of a game."

"Okay, you got me at the American football thing. I suppose I'll have to watch a game to understand it better." Bella smiles at him. "Is there anything else that makes playing Quidditch at Ilvermorny different from playing at Hogwarts?"

"Yes, at Hogwarts classes would be canceled for the day so a Quidditch game could be played. Here games are played in Saturdays, thus no classes need to be canceled. House teams at Hogwarts have to book the pitch for practices. Here teams are given a specific day each week for practice after school." Rinsing her plate off in the sink, before putting it in the dishwasher.

"That's good."

"Oh, one last thing before I go. The school team tryouts are this Friday, so I'll be staying late then too. I figure if I get on both teams I'll do both. If it seems like too much, I'll quite one team and just do the other one. More than likely the house team since that would mean less time spent flooding with the team to another schools." She gives Jack a hug and waves bye to Aaron before going to the living room grabbing her things and apparating away.

She appaers on the front steps of the school with her brooms nd makes her way to Miss. Emmaline's office. "Good morning, Miss Emmaline." She greets the woman before putting her broom in a small cubby space and casting a security charm on it as she doesn't want any one to take it.

"So trying out for your house team?"

"Yes, ma'am." Bella says with a smile. "I hope to be a seeker. That's what I was at Hogwarts, but the coach told me that the tryouts are generalized so that the players can be put into the best spot for their abilities not what they want to play."

"Well, you certainly have the build to be a seeker. But that doesn't mean that that is the best spot for you." The first bell of the day rings. "I hope you get a spot on your house team."

"Thanks, I better get to class. I'll see you after school to get my broom." With that she leaves to get to class.
