Ilvermorny: Lunch

"Okay, class, the bell will ring shortly," Nurse Genia says, after clapping her hands to get everyone's attention. Bella puts her book away with the paper in it, She puts her pencil away and goes to stand by the door with Sarah and Charlotte. 

"So how does lunch work around here? At Hogwarts, you would go to the Great Hall and pick whichever foods you want from your table."

"Well, that's not how it works around here." Charlotte says.

The bell rings. "Come on, it will be easier to show you rather than to tell you." Sarah says dragging her out of the room.They drag her to the main hall. "So everyone comes here to get their food, then you can choose to sit on the floor in here, go into the cafeteria or out on the lawn to eat. There are so many beautiful spots to sit outside. Now you see those boards on that wall?" Bella nods. "You'll need your wand for this." Sarah pulls her wand out.

"BELLA!' She turns to the source of the shout. 

"Over here, Blaise," she waves, he joins the little group, soon the other three transfer students are with them.

"Gosh, this place is crowded." Sky says from behind Bella. "Oh, this looks like fun. Oh, hello, I'm Skylark, this is my brother, Thomas, and our friend, Norville."

"Charlotte, and my cousin, Sarah. We were just explaining the lunch system to Bella."

"Great, then you can explain it to us as well." Norville says, smiling at the two girls. 

"Look, we can get to those boards now," Thomas says. 

"So it is actually really simple, just find your name," Sarah says, and points with her finger to her name. "Then, think about what you want to eat and tap it with your wand." She taps her wand against her name and a chicken sandwich, mac'n'cheese and a cup of water appear on a tray in her hands. "It's that simple."

"It may take a few minutes because House elves are only so fast." Charlotte adds, tapping her name. Her meal does not immediately appear, it takes a few minutes before a salad with medium rare strips of steak, crushed hard boiled egg, shredded cheese, diced onion, cherry tomatoes, sliced almonds and croutons. "A fresh made salad takes longer than a pre-cooked, magically reheated chicken sandwich."

"Now the list is divided twice. They are first divided by how the student gets to school on a given day, so if you floo to school, you'll be on one of the first two lists. If you apparate to school you'll be on one of the middle two lists. If you live in the dorms, you will be on one of the last two lists. The lists are then divided by male and female. Females come first in each section. They are then sorted alphabetically, year is not taken into account." Sarah explains. "We'll meet you five outside."

Sky, Thomas, and Norville head for the last two lists. Blaise moves over a list, and Bella heads to the first list. They each get a meal and head to the lawn.

Charlotte and Sarah are waiting for them by the door. "Come on, the best spot is by the lake." Charlotte says.

"In her opinion," Sarah says. "I personally prefer a nice shady spot by the woods."

"Since you're the new kids, which would you prefer?" Charlotte asks.

"How about right there?" Sky says, pointing to a tree near the lake her tray levitating next to her.

"That spot looks perfect, a shady spot and near the lake," Thomas says and they all head over to it. Blaise conjures up a large picnic blanket for the group and they all take a seat. 

"So what caused you five to transfer to Ilvermorny?"

"Moved in with my godfather and his son," Bella answers first.
