Tryouts Continued

"Okay so for the next portion of the tryouts. We will be looking at your skills as a keeper. Each of you will take a turn defending the goals the rest of you will do your best to throw a ball through the goals. You can aim at any of the three goals and the one defending will try their best to block it. The two of you who block the most shots will be the keeper and the back up keeper and then we will have two more in case those two do better in another position." He explains pulling out a quaffle and throwing it at the student nearest him. He then looks at the clip board again and calls the student at the top of the list as the first to defend the goals. "Everyone onto your brooms."

Bella gets on her broom quickly and does some laps just to make sure her broom is fine and get into the feel of it again then she joins the others as the quaffle gets passed from person to person and goes through to toss it at the goal. When she tosses it for the first keeper they miss.

Each of the students has a go at defending the goal posts and some do amazing others only block a few. Then it is her turn. She takes the position and takes a deep breath as the first person comes to make the throw then her eyes are on the ball and she blocks as many shots as she can.

Soon all the students have had a turn and the coach instructs everyone to land so he can name the four people and explain the four people who did the best out of the twenty people trying out. "So the one who blocked the most shoots is Heather Floras with fifteen blocks of nineteen. Belladonna Le Faye came in second with thirteen of nineteen. Rick Rein was third with ten out nineteen and Butch Gregory was fourth with nine out of nineteen." A blonde boy with golden eyes seems mad when Rick Rein's number of blocks is called out.

"Next we will be doing the tryouts for chasers this will envolve the dodgeballs under the net. Spelled to act something like bludgers they will hit you and each one will leave a small mark on you when they hit the six people who make it from one end of the field to the other with the quaffle and make a successful goal with our potential keepers blocking will take chaser positions and I will also list six back ups." With that he releases the net and tsses the first person the quaffle and then tells Heather to go block one end and Rick the other. Then they switched with Bella and Butch for the next person and they kept doing so until the last person went. 

The coach called out the top twelve people. "Harold Funchest, Angel Funchest, and Butch Gregory are our top three. Followed by Charles Burns, Frank Winchester, and Yuki Ongaku. As for back up chasers, we have Rick Rein, Donald Moultrie, Selena Rough, Stephan Wind, Liliania Butcher, Greg Miles, and Mary Seedmore."

Again the blonde boy with golden eyes seems made when Rick Rein gets called as a back up chaser, going so far as to stomp.his foot. He mumbles something under his breathe before putting a mask back into place.

"Onto the last position, seeker. This tryout will have you all dodging through the dodgeballs trying to catch a snitch. I will release four snitches and the first four students to bring me a snitch will then have a head to head with each of the other three. Now then, everyone up." Everyone gets back on their brooms and rushes into the air. Bella takes a deep breath and listens for the whistle and when she hears it looks for a snitch. She quickly spots one and dodges through the balls finally rising above them and diving for the snitch she catches it and heads for the coach. He nods at her as another young lady joins them. Next two young men join them at about the same time and the couch blows his whistle again. All the students land on the ground and the blond haired, golden eyed boy looks furious. 

"First we'll have Miss. Le Faye and Miss. Bookerd go ahead to head then the loser will go against Mr. Moultrie and finally the loser will go against Mr. Wind. So up you ladies go when you hear the whistle that means the snitch has been released." 

They go up and wait, then when they hear the whistle they search for the snitch and then they see it at the same time. They race toward it and they both have a hand about to grab it when it dives. They zoom after it. Inches from the ground it flies and the other girl seems to back off a little when she notices this. But Bella tucks her legs close to her broom and leans as far forward as she can until she wraps her hand around the snitch and pulls up so she can dismount the snitch clasped tightly in her hand. The other girl lands beside her."Nice technique. I'm Rose."

"Belladonna. Nice to meet you." She says as they walk to the coach. Bella hands him the snitch and takes a seat on a bench as Rose and one of the boys race into the air. Rose comes out on top this time and joins Bella on the bench to watch the boys face off. Then Bella faces off against the loser Donald Moultrie. Then Rose goes against Stephen Wind then Bella goes against him when Rose beats him. Bella comes out with the snitch again.

The coach steps to the side for a little bit to finalize the teams and the students start talking amongst themselves in the mean time. Some come over to Bella and Rose and praise their flying techniques. The girls thank them with slight blushes. Bella notices the blonde with golden eyes off to the side. And points him out to Rose. "Oh, that's Rick Rein. He's my neighbor. He has three older brothers and they are each professional Quidditch players. Martin, the oldest is a beater. Henry the second oldest is a chaser. And Marcus, the one just before him is a seeker. Rick has been on the team since his first year usually as a keeper but he only made backup positions on the tryouts for each this year. But since your more than likely going to be our seeker he'll probably make the team as secondary keeper. Even his younger sister plays mix up games at her school."

The coach walks back over. "Thank you all for coming and trying out this year but as you should all be aware of six of you will be not make either team today. Our starter team will be for Beaters Elizabeth Moultrie and Derek Martin. For keeper: Heather Floras. For Chasers: Harold Funchest, Angel Funchest, and Butch Gregory. And for Seeker: Belladonna Le Faye." He takes a moment to catch his breath as the remaining unnamed students lean forward in their seats. "As for the secondary team. For Beaters, we have Sylvia Beckerd and Victor Truman. For Keeper, we have Rick Rein. For Chasers, we have Charles Burns, Frank Winchester, and Yuki Ongaku. And the Seeker is Rose Bookerd." Bella and Rose give each other a hug before turning back to the coach. "Congratulations ladies and gentlemen. Now hurry home and do your homework. I expect both teams back here next week for practice."
