They pop into a small courtyard-like area with a few students and parents still milling about. Jack leads the way to his classroom where the teacher is waiting outside. “Good morning, Mrs. Tellna.”
“Good morning, Jack, Mrs. Emalline. Who is this with you two this morning?”
“My big sister,” Jack says, a huge smile on his face, before running over to another boy already in the classroom, leaving Bella a little shocked.
“Ah, so you’re the famous Bella, Jack talks about you all the time,” Mrs. Tellna says, causing Bella to blush. “He’s quite fond of you.”
Emmaline giggles. “I don’t believe Bella had previously been informed how Jack viewed her. Laura, Bella and I were wondering if there were a way for Bella to be able to pick Jack up with the current restrictions on getting into the school? Because despite Jack seeing Bella as an older sister, she is not related to him by blood at all.”
“You would have to talk to Gideon. He’s usually greeting parents in the courtyard now. He likes to reassure them that we are taking precautions against Dumbledore getting into the school as possible.”
“Okay, thank you.” The two wave bye to the teacher as they head back to the courtyard. Miss. Emmaline glances back and forth trying to spot the man they are looking for. “There he is. Now, Bella, if he is unable to deal with it now, we may be able to meet with him after school, and I’ll bring you back then, okay? But Jack is your brother in all but blood and you would like be able to pick him up and drop him off, right?”
“Right, that way you wouldn’t have to get him everyday, based on what you said at breakfast, I would be able to drop him off since he would be with me when I came.”
“Hello, Emmaline, dropping Jack off for Aaron today?”
“Yes, even if he weren’t on a case at the moment, he wouldn’t be able to anyway as he cannot apparate.”
“Ahh, yes, the MACUSA is currently working on a solution for the No-Maj parents. At the moment, many of the Magical Guardians are bringing them but we also have teachers willing to apparate the students that they can.”
“That’s good. On that note though, I’d like to introduce you to Belladonna Le Faye, Jack’s honorary older sister and Aaron’s goddaughter. She would like to be able to pick Jack up in the afternoons if possible, which would not change his current pick up time as she attends Ilvermorny and I would be picking him up after the school day is over with anyway. Is there a way for us to get that set up?”
“As they don’t share blood, we could set her up as a secondary magical guardian for him, we’d just have to get her and Aaron to fill out the paperwork, which has to have a witness from the school to do that. So if you could bring both Mr. Hotchner and Miss. Le Faye one afternoon after Mr. Hotchner gets back, we can get that all filled out and she can pick up her little brother.”
“I’ll talk to Aaron today and determine when a good time to do that would be.”
“I look forward to it. It’s always good to see the older children helping their parents out. You two should get going, first bell at Ilvermorny should be ringing soon. I wouldn’t want Miss. Le Faye to be late to class because of a principal and a vice-principal. You have a wonderful day, ladies.”
“You as well,” they both reply before separately apparating away. Bella hears the bell go off as soon as she lands and sighs in relief as groups of students hurry by her to get to class. She quickly makes her way to Potions, she smiles at Snape and takes her seat, wondering when they would go to the principal about her picking up Jack.
