Hendery sighed, sitting up in bed and swinging his feet over the edge.
"What's your problem?"
Hendery looked over at Chenle and rubbed his eye. He naturally had his fake eye still closed as he put on his eye patch.
"I'm bored."
"You literally just woke up."
"Yeah, but I'm still bored."
"Want to help me run an errand for granny then?"
Hendery shrugged, "Sure."
Chenle smiled, throwing on decent looking clothes and waiting for Hendery to wake up enough to do the same. Together they headed upstairs to grab a quick breakfast, even if it was almost lunch time.
"Why are you putting so much ketchup on those fries?" Hendery asked, watching as Haechan kept putting more on.
"They're for Mark."
"Aw, you guys are finally making up?"
Chenle groaned, "For real? You're for real doing that? Can't you just quit it?"
Haechan shrugged, slipping on his sunglasses as he put the ketchup bottle back into the fridge.
Hendery looked back and forth between the two of them.
"What am I missing?"
"Mark hates ketchup."
Now it was Hendery's turn to groan. Haechan ignored both of their pleads to stop as he went to go find Mark and bother him.
"We should warn someone to break them up when we leave." Hendery mentioned, missing the fact that Chenle was already getting up from his chair because he was on his bad side.
"Already on it."
So after warning Taeil and Kun, the two set off to go run the errand for Chenle's granny. Except Hendery had no idea where they were going and almost turned down the street to his parent's house because he wasn't paying attention.
He looked at Chenle quizzically when he saw they were getting close to the animal shelter WinWin and Jungwoo worked at.
"Errand for your granny or for yourself?"
Chenle smirked, opening the door and holding it open for Hendery.
"Little bit of both."
"Welcome to Bells and Whistles Animal Shelter! How can I help you?" WinWin asked, his back facing them as he filled one of the food bowls.
Chenle threw his hood on and Hendery did the same, changing their voices slightly. Just because they could.
"We were just looking for a dog."
"Alright, let me know if you need something."
Softly snickering to themselves, they approached the dog section of the shelter. There had to be at least twenty dogs in there, but the majority of them were pretty big. Chenle had been given strict directions not to get her a big dog because she didn't want it jumping on her and stopping her heart.
"Is the dog staying with us at the cafe?"
"Occasionally. It's mainly to keep my granny company but she hates cats and fish." Chenle paused. "I should ask Momma Suh."
Pulling out his phone he called Mrs. Suh, smiling when he heard playful bickering in the background between the grandparents.
"Who started the fire?"
Chenle laughed, stifling it with his hand when WinWin turned around suspiciously.
"Nothing's burning. I wanted to ask if we could have another dog in the basement."
"Do I live there?"
"No..."
"Did you ask Kun?"
"No... But the dog is technically for my granny."
"Then go ahead. And if anyone gives you trouble, just call me."
She hung up before he could say thank you or before Hendery could interrupt and say hi. Slipping the phone back into his pocket, they went back to finding a dog.
The only problem was they were all adorable. It's a very good thing there was a size restriction or else they would have come home with a giant Doberman that was whining at Hendery.
"Hey, wait a minute. Are you two allowed to be here?" WinWin asked, finally realizing why that hoodie looked familiar.
Realizing their fun was up, they took off their hoods.
Hendery pointed to Chenle. "He dragged me here!"
"My granny wanted me to get a little dog for her."
WinWin sighed, but then he smiled. Motioning for them to follow him, he led them into the back room.
"A litter of Bichon puppies were just dropped off here last night and I haven't had time to get them situated."
WinWin opened the lid to the box with holes punched in it, and one immediately jumped onto Chenle's lap when he crouched down.
"I love her, granny will love her, she's perfect."
He sent a picture of the Bichon to his granny just to check with her, but it didn't matter what she said because WinWin was already helping them adopt the dog. It was just a bonus that she also fell in love with her.
"I need a name for the certificate."
"Well she'll need a Korean and Chinese name, but I guess legally she can be called Daegal."
Hendery and WinWin both raised their eyebrows.
"The slang word for big head?"
Chenle nodded, finding nothing wrong with the name as he petted her.
The best part was that his granny never even knew the actual meaning. She just thought it was a cute name.
