Jaehyun watched as Kun packed himself a sandwich (turkey with lettuce and mayonnaise for those wondering). They both had the day off from working, as marked by the miniature whiteboard in the kitchen that Jungwoo had set up, but that didn't mean Kun wasn't working.
The end of the school year meant the beginning of summer fairs and activities, and Kun had booked his schedule full of them. Just like he did every summer.
So before he started doing flights above the fair grounds for the day, he was taking his two-seater plane for a test run. Kun was insanely careful about keeping his plane in perfect working condition, so there wasn't a need for a test run, he just wanted to be sure that he could guarantee parents that his plane was safe.
"Can I come with you?"
Kun stopped as he was about to leave, his bag with everything he would need for the day and more in hand. Someone always asked if they could come with him.
"You realize it's a two-seater plane and you'll be at the fair alone all day, right?"
"I know."
Kun looked around just to be sure none of the younger ones were in the vicinity to complain. They were old enough to handle themselves at a fair all day, but Kun never let them come regardless. Especially if he knew it was going to be busy.
"Alright, just tell someone you're out doing something else so I don't get attacked later. I'll meet you at the bus stop."
Jaehyun waited until Kun left before jumping off the counter and searching for someone to tell he was going out. He never went anywhere on his own, so he was already suspicious, but there was nothing he could do about that.
"Hey Taeyong, I'm going out to find something to do today. I probably won't be back until tonight."
Taeyong nodded, then paused, thinking.
"Summer fair with Kun?"
Jaehyun looked around, satisfied when he didn't see any of the younger kids.
"Yeah, just don't tell anyone that so they don't attack Kun later."
"I'll just say you're at the bar drinking away the day."
"Please don't."
"No promises." Taeyong smiled as he nudged Jaehyun towards the door, handing him a water bottle as he did because he knew he didn't have anything on him other than a phone and money.
Exiting the cafe while mouthing a thank you to Taeyong, Jaehyun ran to the bus stop and skidded to a stop next to Kun just as the bus arrived.
"Are you allowed to take more than a three ounce bottle on a small plane?"
"As long as you don't spill it everywhere, I don't care. I'm not the TSA."
The two got on the bus so they could get to the airfield housing Kun's plane faster, Jaehyun now asking all sorts of questions on why the Touching Stuff Agency had the policies they did. They had both dealt with them a couple times, but it turns out neither knew why the rules were the way they were.
Other than so no one was killed on the plane, but that was the obvious reason. They wanted the really odd reasons like because someone once got on a major caffeine low and they figured out the exact amount of coffee that would get someone through a flight.
All they ended up learning was that you can bring a watermelon on a plane because it was considered a sealed container and it doesn't explode in the high altitude.
So Jaehyun watched as Kun checked over everything on the plane before filling up the gas tank and getting ready to fly to the fair. Small planes are extremely loud to be inside of, though, so if they wanted to talk over the headset they really had to shout.
