A Family Reunion

"Hendery! Some lady with the spawn of the devil is here claiming she's your mother and you have some place to be! She mentioned needing Lucas and Renjun too. I think she's a scam." Mrs. Suh shouted down the stairs, and Hendery looked between his cousins in confusion.

"Why would she ask for Renjun if she said he's with her?"

"No, she said spawn of the devil. I'm the tiny witch doctor." Renjun corrected, emphasizing his point by pointing a colored pencil at Hendery.

"I think she means your brother." YangYang said with a sigh, and Sungchan gasped.

"You have a brother? Cool!"

"No, not cool. He's the reason Hen's eye got messed up." Jaemin grumbled, Sungchan wiping the excited expression right from his face.

"Oh."

"Shoot! My eyepatch! He can't see this!"

"Hendery, my pirate prince, she's starting to get upset. Need me to take care of her for you? She keeps saying you guys are late for a family reunion or something. Which is dumb because we're all here."

"Except Mark." Lucas pointed out.

"Except Mark."

"I have to go to a family reunion without my eyepatch?! No, I'm not doing this." Hendery shook his head frantically, squeezing Leon a little tighter to his chest. Leon didn't like that too much, so he meowed loudly and demanded to be put down. Which Hendery complied to.

"Oh boohoo. This is the first family reunion I have ever been forced to go to. I think you'll live." Renjun pointed out, really upset he was being forced to go. There was a reason he enjoyed being the ignored cousin in the family.

"Ha! You're going to have to listen to everyone do the whole you've gotten taller and look how old you've gotten speeches." Lucas laughed.

"Boys! We have to go!" This time it was Hendery's Mom shouting down the stairs, so they jumped up and threw on their shoes.

Hendery took off his eyepatch and tossed it to the closest person who just so happened to be Shotaro who had no idea what was going on and had been in his own world. That led to Chenle later screaming about how the spy had killed Hendery, and it took a lot of calming him down to convince him otherwise.

"Oh this is why we're dressed up today." Lucas noted, checking out Renjun's outfit now that he wasn't covered with a blanket.

"Yeah, I had forgotten too."

Johnny had done a fashion evaluation as soon as he saw them dressed up. Hendery got an 8.3, Lucas an 8.5, and Renjun a 5 just to mess with him. WinWin hadn't been involved in it, but he got a 9 regardless.

"Good luck socializing!" Jeno called out after them, knowing they'd need a lot more than luck to get through a family reunion.

Surprisingly, it went okay though. Besides Renjun saying he wanted to leave every five minutes when someone new (who he supposedly had met before when he was a baby) came up to say hi. They actually managed to have a decent time, the majority of which spent stealing chips and hiding from the other cousins on the playground.

And of course, their grandma made no hesitation in pointing out that her favorite grandson was finally here and that Lucas and Hendery were wimps. They didn't need to have a whole family reunion for that to happen. She would've called that out any day.
