"Are we actually going to play basketball in the dark?" Chenle asked, hopping every few steps down the sidewalk.
"It won't be completely dark. We have flashlights to set up on the side of the court." Mr. Suh reminded him.
With everyone running in front of the flashlights, they probably wouldn't do much for light sources. At this point the main concern was just making sure the park was actually open. It wasn't too far away, but it would still suck to get all the way there and have to turn back.
"How do we want to split up the teams?" Mark spoke up, having to repeat himself once so he could actually be heard over the side conversations.
"Foreign Swaggers versus Don't Need Your Love or Chewing Gum, Superhuman Cherry Bomb Chain Bosses. Duh." Ten scoffed.
"Nooooooo, there's only three for the Don't Need Your Love or Chewing Gum, Superhuman Cherry Bomb Chain Bosses. We actually have to make teams." Mark countered, so now they had to start thinking.
"Well there's fifteen of us. So two teams of seven and one sub?" Yuta thought out loud.
"I can be a sub for one team." Mr. Suh offered, and Hendery sighed.
"I'm the one who has to switch out with him, aren't I."
Sungchan patted his shoulder with an apologetic smile, "We just don't want you to get hurt running into everyone."
"Speaking of running into everyone, are we tying ourselves together to double our basketball powers again?" YangYang asked Xiaojun with a smirk.
"Please don't. It doesn't actually help," Taeyong tried, but Xiaojun was already nodding as if it was a stupid thing to ask.
"Of course we are."
"Okay, so Xiao and Yang are together and so are Mr. Suh and Hen, so who else are on the teams?" Jaehyun questioned in an attempt to get them to focus again.
"I'm with Jeno!" Lucas shouted, immediately shushed by everyone for being too loud.
"We'll go on Xiao and Yang's team." Jeno decided for them, assuming that Mr. Suh and Hendery were on a separate team from Xiaojun and YangYang.
"Shotaro, Chenle and I are with them." Johnny spoke up, tucking Shotaro under his arm.
"You and Lucas on one team is too OP. And Chenle? Not fair." Taeyong pointed out, the rest of the group now complaining with him.
"Fine, you guys can have Lele, but we get Yuta." Shotaro compromised, no more complaints arising.
Once they got to the empty park, they discovered it was open until ten, so they had plenty of time to play basketball in the dark. The flashlights were turned on and propped up along the sides of the court, hardly lighting it up. Especially if someone ran in front of it. Which was inevitable.
YangYang and Xiaojun tied themselves together by tying one of their shoes to the other. They were going to hold each others hand the entire time, but they ended up sharing Johnny's jacket instead. Because combing two people together meant double the power.
Mr. Suh started out on the side, whistling to signal the beginning of the game. The team without Johnny and Lucas started with the ball, Taeyong dribbling up the side until Shotaro blocked him and was able to steal the ball when he attempted to pass it.
It was actually a decent match of abilities, especially since both sides had someone who kept running into everyone. And then there was Mark who kept just barely missing every time he took a shot.
The score was 120 to 116 (Xiao and Yang's team winning) when they started getting a little too exhausted. There was also a fair share of scraped knees, and Mr. Suh had opted to sit down thirty minutes ago.
"Alright guys, we done now?" Sungchan asked between breaths, almost everyone nodding.
Chenle looked like he could stay up all night doing this, so when he protested about leaving, his opinion was not taken into account. They also couldn't be responsible for accidentally killing Mr. Suh.
"I bet they fell asleep after the movie and are cuddled up on the couch." Ten commented right before they were about to enter the cafe through the back door, and Lucas snapped his fingers.
"Except WinWin."
"Always except WinWin."
Those who stayed for the movie night were in the exact positions they had expected them to be in, making it a challenge to shower and get ready for bed without waking them.
But if they got a cuddle party upstairs, there was no way they weren't having their own. So Yuta and YangYang set up the sleeping bags and blankets on the floor while others got ready for bed. Their end position by the time they fell asleep was considerably more comfortable than those upstairs on the couch, but that didn't mean they still weren't a tangled pile of limbs.
And Mr. Suh finally got to go to bed like he wanted to hours ago.
