Doyoung nudged Jaehyun towards the stairs to the kitchens upstairs, "Go on."
"Why do I have to go?" He then paused as he turned around, "Are you scared of Johnny?"
Doyoung scoffed. "No, I'm just telling you to ask him."
"Because you're scared."
"Why would I be scared of him? I've known him for twelve years."
"Then you ask him."
"You've known him longer."
"Not really. He forgot I existed for awhile."
Doyoung crossed his arms. "Fine then, we can get Ten to ask him."
"Ten has nothing to do with this."
"He can now."
Jaehyun and Doyoung stared at each other, narrowing their eyes. Neither moved for a minute until they both held out their fists simultaneously, ready for rock paper scissors.
Without saying anything, they both threw out paper and continued tying until Jaehyun beat Doyoung with a rock. He smirked, motioning up the stairs with a grand gesture.
"After you."
Rolling his eyes, Doyoung walked up the stairs. Johnny was in the kitchen baking with Taeil; Yuta in his usual perch on the window sill. Just as they had anticipated.
Yuta noticed them first, giving them a quick up-tilt of the head. "What's up?"
Johnny whipped around, smiling when he saw who it was.
"Come to help?"
Jaehyun hoisted himself onto a currently unused counter, smirking to himself as he watched Doyoung struggle to find words. After a deep breath, he straightened up.
"Yuta, Jae, Renjun, Haechan, Chenle and I were thinking and-"
"We're not randomly stealing a kid off the street and raising them as our own." Johnny interrupted.
Doyoung paused. He hadn't expected to be interrupted so early on in his ramble before he ever asked the question.
"Why in the world would we do that?"
"Because we could eventually gain an army of kids that trust us completely. You never know when that's going to be necessary." Yuta argued.
Jaehyun looked between Yuta and Johnny's tired face. Judging by the lack of reaction by Taeil, they must've already had a lengthy conversation about this.
"Haechan and Renjun came up an hour ago and asked about that." Johnny explained, "Continue then."
Doyoung shifted on his feet, opting to lean against a counter. Was he stalling for time? Absolutely. He only continued when Jaehyun noticed what he was doing and jerked his head in the direction of Johnny.
"Anyways, we were thinking, and we all thought having our own radio station in the cafe could be a cool idea."
Johnny stopped what he was doing and brushed the flour off his hands. Whatever he was baking could wait. This sounded interesting.
"Moonwalk cafe or this one?"
Jaehyun took the opportunity to butt in.
"Studio could be in Moonwalk since we have the whole basement, but we could have it so it broadcasts to here. Plus, we could make it our own private station so it's another unique touch."
"And we wouldn't have to run the signal twenty-four hours, just the cafe hours." Doyoung added.
Had he been doing research on this instead of his own actual job? You bet. It was another slow day, anyway. It was fine. It's not like he spent the whole day researching it. Only half.
Johnny thought about it. It did sound cool. Not exactly an idea that would bring in money, but it'd be fun. I mean, not everything had to bring in money.
"We were already thinking the six of us could run it ourselves. It'd give us something to do instead of getting in the way." Yuta commented with a small smile.
"Seven."
Yuta, Jaehyun and Doyoung stared at Johnny.
"Seven?"
Johnny scoffed, "Did you seriously think I wouldn't want to do this?"
They looked at each other and shrugged. They didn't even think he would agree this quickly, and they were ready to call Mrs. Suh to get her to back them up.
With a smile Johnny turned back to whatever he was baking. "I guess we're having our own radio station then."
"February 7th." Taeil spoke up, gaining everyone's attention.
"What about it?"
"I forgot we'd need four extra days anyways. Moonwalk cafe opens on the 7th."
Johnny sighed. At least he didn't move the date forward on them.
"You really love picking the date for this, don't you."
Taeil smiled, "Am I really picking it, though?"
Nobody knew what that meant, but that didn't matter. They were getting their own radio station.
