Jungwoo watched as Renjun put the finishing touches on the mural for Moonwalk Cafe. He knew it was going to be amazing considering Renjun was the one doing it and Ten occasionally helped a bit, but he didn't know it would look like this. It really captured the vibe of the whole place.
"Done!" He announced, putting his paint brush in the water cup and stepping back to admire it.
"It's beautiful."
Renjun turned around to give Jungwoo a proud smile, "Thanks, I know."
"No, it really is."
"I'm just glad he did that instead of some of the other designs. Some of those were weird." Sungchan piped up, immediately cowering behind Jungwoo when Renjun faced him with a glare.
Renjun immediately softened as he turned his attention back to his masterpiece. He was too proud to be annoyed at someone right now.
After another minute of admiring it, he slumped his shoulders with a small frown. "What do I do now?"
"Help with the rest of the cafe? Help with Limitless? Learn more witchcraft?" Sungchan suggested.
"Actually," Kun interrupted as he came down from the upstairs, "we just finished with the final touches upstairs."
Jungwoo scoffed, "There's no way. We can't be done already."
"You're right, we're not completely done. We're still waiting for the ingredient orders to come in, but other than that we're done." Kun corrected.
"And when will all that come in?" Sungchan asked.
Kun paused for a moment before Johnny- who had heard them as he also came down the stairs- inserted himself into the conversation.
"Two days before the cafe opens. And no, that was not planned because Taeil decided the seventh. That was actually the earliest they could get here."
"So Taeil somehow knew all of this and chose the seventh?" Renjun questioned, highly skeptical. Which was interesting considering he was the one who was skilled in witchcraft and could talk to demons.
Johnny shrugged, "I have no clue what happened but it works out."
"Aside from the ingredients then, we are actually done?" Jungwoo asked.
Kun threw his hands up in the air, "Why do you not believe me?"
"Yes, the ingredients are the last to come into place." Johnny confirmed.
Sungchan was still skeptical of that, so he started looking around the place to see what could possibly be missing. Except there wasn't anything missing. The whole cafe was decorated to the theme, the blackboard was mounted to the wall with the menu written on it, and the new counter had been installed further back how they wanted it.
Plus the radio station was set up in the basement and arranged how they wanted, so the only thing they had left for that was deciding what the time slots were for the seven who were going to run it. And Kun and Johnny had just finished equipping the kitchen upstairs with everything they would need and changing the single bedroom up there into a storage area.
They had even installed a dumbwaiter like they had in Limitless so they wouldn't have to keep going up and down the stairs. That was their favorite bit.
Needless to say, they were officially done with time to spare.
"Did someone put out the flyers we made for our grand opening date?" Sungchan asked.
"Yeah, Jeno and Jaemin rode their bikes around the city and did that a few days ago." Johnny replied.
"I'm still pretty sure we're missing something." Jungwoo mumbled, though he wasn't sure what that was at the moment.
"How about how many demons are in our basement?" WinWin asked, his head poking out of the trap door. He'd been there for a few minutes, but no one had noticed him.
Jungwoo shook his head, "No, that wasn't what I was thinking."
WinWin sighed, "Well can we please know? Because every time something happens Yuta adds it to his estimated number."
"Well what's he up to?" Renjun asked.
"Thirty-one. He thinks there's thirty-one demons in our basement."
Renjun laughed, "I wish, but there's only three."
"Sweetie, Spark and...?" Johnny counted off on his fingers.
"Shy. Sweetie, Spark and Shy."
WinWin nodded as he ducked back into the basement to tell Yuta he was wrong with his count. Though to even think that each unexplained action had to be a different demon was a stretch in the first place.
Sungchan suddenly gasped, his eyes bright.
"What?" Kun asked when he didn't voice his thoughts fast enough.
"Tables and chairs! We never set them up!"
Indeed, the tables and chairs they almost forgot when they were ordering things were still in boxes waiting to be assembled against the wall of the cafe. Johnny and Kun shared a tired glance before shrugging.
"We'll deal with them later."
To which they then proceeded to forget about them for another few days.
