Doctors and Alleys

"Who's worse, doctor or dentist?" Jaehyun asked, not wanting to go to either today.

His aunt had made appointments for the three cousins all on one day so the cafe wouldn't have to be short on staff more than one day, but that also meant they were going to be gone for hours. No one was looking forward to that.

"Doctor. I think he's trying to flirt with me. He keeps wanting to see me almost every week." Hendery answered, as if his damaged eye wasn't a good reason to keep going back.

"Yeah, the doctor's worse," YangYang and Yuta agreed.

"What? No, the dentist is! I accidentally bit him once and he punched me." Lucas exclaimed, his cousin starting to laugh at the memory.

"You had a black eye for almost a week. It was great."

"WinWin? Jungwoo? What do you think?" Jaehyun asked, wanting them to be included in the discussion.

Jungwoo immediately started impersonating a doctor, but WinWin shifted on his feet.

"I didn't think either of them were bad."

"Jae! We have to go!" Johnny called down the stairs, and he sighed.

"Don't have too much fun without us."

"We will." YangYang gave him a cheeky smile, earning himself a flick on the ear.

Only six of them were then left in the basement for the night, none of them knowing what they were going to do. Taeyong had something at the school he was doing, Haechan was stuck at home, Kun and Chenle had some old lady tea party they had to be at, and Doyoung had left with Jeno a while ago. Even Bella had stayed home.

"What now?"

"We could go to my house." Yuta offered, though he was mainly suggesting that they take a walk.

"Going to your house will probably get us arrested." WinWin shot back, leaving Lucas and Hendery very confused.

"Don't you live here?"

"Now I do, but I used to live in an alley."

"Sounds like a fun place to visit! Let's go!" Lucas stood up from the floor and the rest followed, all of them hesitant except for Yuta.

The six of them then left the cafe and headed in the direction of Yuta's old alley. It was a very nice day to be taking a walk, but it was a little chilly for those not wearing long sleeves and pants. So YangYang was practically freezing in his basketball shorts and t-shirt.

Yuta frowned when he came to his alley and saw everything he had set up had been removed. The tarps he spent months getting, the buckets he had stolen to act as a bed so he wasn't off the ground, everything that implied someone had lived there. He knew it wouldn't look the same without his own stuff that had been packed up, but he didn't think it'd look like this.

"You lived here?" YangYang whispered, having expected it to look better than this when he heard stories.

"You sure this is the right alley?" Hendery asked, and Yuta just nodded. He didn't know why, but seeing it look like this made him want to cry.

WinWin started rambling to attempt to make Yuta feel better, sensing that he was upset. "It didn't used to look like this. Some jerk with no taste must've taken it down. It looked a lot better when Yuta lived here. Trust me."

"We could vandalize it. That'll teach them to mess with stuff that isn't theirs."

The boys stopped and stared at Jungwoo. He looked completely serious.

"What have we done to you..." Yuta whispered in disbelief. "Let's go find something else to do."

So they went to a playground at Lucas's request and ran around there. This time it wasn't just Jungwoo tripping over his feet, but now they had Hendery running into things because his depth perception was off.

Doyoung and Jeno ended up joining them, but they were only allowed to join once everyone had expressed their disappointment in them for picking favorites. Though it wasn't like Doyoung was going to stop picking favorites any time soon.
