Renjun was completely aware that YangYang had fallen asleep in class next to him. 100% aware. He could've woken him up too, but he knew if he was exhausted then YangYang was going to be a whole lot more exhausted than he was.
Neither had gotten the best nights sleep after their respective movie night and basketball night, and getting up to go to school after that was torture. So Renjun was pretty close to falling asleep during notes too.
There was no way he was going to wake him up unless he absolutely needed to, though. He'd just try and pay attention enough for the two of them.
What wasn't surprising was how their teacher didn't even attempt to wake him up or embarrass YangYang in front of the class. Their history teacher was chill like that, and he honestly looked like he'd rather be sleeping too. The other kids in their class, though? Not so much. They had way too much energy that needed to be burnt.
When the teacher decided he had enough of standing in front of the class and talking, he told them to take the rest of the class period off. Renjun had thought he could use the time to finish up the extensive notes he had taken for YangYang, but his classmates had other plans.
They had started off by throwing tiny wads of paper at YangYang and snickering, finding it even funnier when he didn't wake up.
"Cut it out." Renjun muttered under his breath, knowing they could hear him.
"Why? You gonna make us, Witch Boy?"
"I don't think you want me to."
The conversation stopped when the teacher looked their way as a silent scolding for them to shut up as Renjun discretely reached for his voodoo doll he kept in his bag for occasions like this. They didn't happen often, but they happened often enough.
"Think you can read what's on that stupid bracelet he always wears?" One of them whispered to their buddy next to him.
Renjun took his water bottle and pressed the voodoo doll to it, soaking the torso of the doll in water. He smirked when he heard the water bottle fall over on the desk behind him, soaking the kid's shirt.
"Try and cut off his bracelet when you get paper towel." Another kid whispered, almost causing Renjun to lose his calm.
Instead, he used his own bracelet to sweep out the leg of the voodoo doll, making the kid trip when he got up. The crash was enough for YangYang to jolt awake, but he put his head back down when he saw who had fallen.
"You!" The kid shouted, pointing his finger at Renjun with a red face.
"What's going on over there?"
"He made my water spill and then tripped me!"
Renjun slipped the voodoo doll into his hoodie pocket, taking a sip from the water bottle still in his hand.
"I was just sitting here finishing my notes."
"You liar! I know you did!"
"Proof or it didn't happen."
"I don't need proof to know you're a freak! You and your cousin!"
Renjun may frequently forget that Lucas and Hendery are his cousins, but at that moment he was on his feet with fists clenched.
"You leave him out of this."
"Both of you sit down before I call the office." No one was paying attention to the teacher anymore, all eyes on what was going down between Renjun and the other kid.
"Why should I? What's your problem anyways?"
"I told you to stop messing with YangYang and you didn't."
