Gal's Night

With the cafe closed up for the night and everyone chilling in the basement, Mrs. Suh thought it was the perfect opportunity to do something she's been wanting to for weeks. Mr. Suh was trying to convince her to just do it on her own because he was too tired, but she was having none of that.

"It won't be the same alone."

Mr. Suh almost melted at her whiny pout, but he knew he couldn't just give up that easily.

"It's getting late and it's a school night. I'll do it with you, just let the kids go to bed. I'm too tired for your plan."

"The kids won't go to bed for another three hours regardless. Please? I'll take over for you in the morning so you can sleep in."

Mr. Suh raised an eyebrow, tempted at the thought of sleeping in.

"You mean you'll get one of the kids to take over for me."

"Same thing."

He sighed, running a hand through his hair.

"Fine. Go on down, I'll be there in a second."

Mrs. Suh's childish smile could've powered half the city as she ran to the basement to get the boys in on her idea. Mr. Suh followed behind at a much slower pace, shaking his head at his wife.

"Who wants to have a gal's night with me?"

"Depends. Do you mean ice cream and rom coms?" Doyoung asked, Mrs. Suh scoffing.

"You forgot face masks and brownies too. Did I even raise you?"

"No."

Doyoung's response was ignored seeing as it was false, and Jaemin sat up in his bed, disrupting Louis who was on his chest.

"I'm down."

"Me too." Haechan commented, Jungwoo nodding.

"Well if you guys are having a gal's night, what are we doing?" Johnny countered as Mr. Suh finally made his way downstairs.

"Basketball in the dark with the four flashlights we have."

"That sounds like someone is going to get hurt." Taeyong spoke up.

"No, it sounds like Hendery is going to get hurt." Jaehyun corrected.

"How about no one gets hurt and we have fun tonight?" Mrs. Suh suggested, the kids just shrugging. "Well I'm going upstairs and putting on a movie. Anyone who wants can join me."

And with that she left the basement, Doyoung, Kun, Taeil, Jungwoo, WinWin, Haechan, Jaemin, Renjun and Jisung following her after a second. Leaving Mr. Suh with fourteen kids to take to the basketball court.

"So what movie are we watching?" Taeil asked, plopping down on the couch and groaning when Haechan sat on top of him.

"I was thinking The Proposal. It's got Ryan Reynolds, so why not?"

"Who wants brownies, ice cream or both?" Kun asked loudly from the kitchen.

"All of the above!"

"Yes!"

"None of those are answers. Everyone want both?" Jungwoo started to raise his hand before speaking, but Kun waved him off. "I already know you just want ice cream. I've got you."

"Thank you." Jungwoo smiled and sat down next to Taeil on the couch. Doyoung and WinWin were finding the face masks while Mrs. Suh set up the movie, and Jaemin and Renjun helped Kun dish out the desert. Leaving Jisung to chill on the couch with the other three that weren't doing anything.

"Everyone doing face masks?" WinWin held up the packs in his hands, throwing one at Haechan without waiting for an answer.

"Duh. Face masks are a requirement." Mrs. Suh retorted, taking one from Doyoung when he handed it to her.

"What if I don't want one?"

"Then leave." Renjun motioned to the door, and Jisung started to get up.

Mrs. Suh lightly smacked the back of Renjun's head. "You don't have to go, Ji. I was joking."

"No you weren't." Haechan piped up.

"I wasn't, but it's Jisung and we want him to stay."

"So if I were to not want a face mask I'd have to leave?" Jaemin asked for clarification, but he never got a response.

"Shh the movie's starting."

Mrs. Suh hit play and those not on the couch already either found a place or sat on the floor. No one was really paying attention to the first few minutes as they struggled to put on the face masks in the dark while eating their ice cream before it melted.

They eventually settled down and cuddled up with each other, sharing blankets. Or not. Depending on if you had a Haechan sitting on you. No one got up when the movie ended, though, deciding to stay there for the night. Even if it was a school night and no one was going to get a good nights sleep.

It was a sacrifice they were willing to make for comfort.
