Chapter 4:
Lexie Pov:
I can't believe how he could do this to me and it was the second time. I can't look at him right now because I start crying when I'm doing it. My trust in him was totally lost. As I left his apartment, I slammed the door in anger and started crying. I stood there paralyzed. I did not have the strength to stand on my own legs, so I leaned against the door to his place, then slipped into a sitting position and plunged into even more crying.
Mark is the love of my life and I always thought that in a few years I would be the mother of his children. That we will create a loving marriage and family. He knew very well that I was not ready to raise children yet, or to say the sacramental Yes, we talked about that many times. Each time he said he would wait, and yet he did not.
Of course, I don't blame what happened on that child, Callie, much less Arizona. In my free time, I will definitely congratulate Torres on getting pregnant, because I know perfectly well how she wanted to become a mother one day.
After about 10 minutes spent in front of the door in the cage where Mark lives, I decided to take my phone out and dial April.
To April from Lexie:
Hey, Joe's offer today?
I wrote to Kepner. While I was waiting for a reply from my friend, I decided to clean up a little. Fortunately, I had micellar wipes in my purse, so I had something to remove the smeared makeup from practically all. I had time to get my face right when I got the message.
To Lexie from April:
Yes, current. I should be here in about 10 minutes because I just finished my shift. See you soon :)
To April from Lexie:
See you soon :)
As soon as I got confirmation of our meeting, I decided to go to the bar. Luckily, Mark lives quite close to the hospital with Joe's bar next to it, so I didn't have to walk too long.
On the way, I thought about what to do next, what the situation between us would be like, because we work in the same place. I was also wondering who to tell about the situation, as April already knows a piece of the story in the morning, I decided to share it only with her. She is now like a friend to me, and although she irritated me at first, now I'm glad that she is what I am close to. She has an amazing gift for listening and giving good advice, and she is always positive, which will be extremely useful in my life, because I'm Grey after all.
When I entered the bar, April was already sitting at the table, I joined her and greeted her.
- "Hey, thanks for coming"- I greeted Kepner
- "Hey, I just finished my shift, so I was nearby" - the red-haired girl greeted and replied with a smile - "And what changed your plans, you were supposed to be at dinner with Marek."
- "Callie is pregnant"- I blurted out and saw the surprise on my friend's face
- "Oh, that's great news" - replied surprised but joyful - "But wait how she was fertilized? After all Dr. Robbins has been in Africa for the last three months" - she asked, and I barely cried out.
- "No, don't say it's true "- she added after a moment, seeing my reaction.
- "Mark is the father of the baby, he got her pregnant"- I replied with tears in my eyes
- "Jesus Lex, I'm so sorry"- April said, hugging me as quickly as possible.
- "I can't understand how he could do this to me, the second time"- I said, crying, still in my friend's arms.
