Chapter 44:

Mark Pov:

- "How could you not invite me?!" - the irritated woman asked, which I will not say caused a certain fear in my person - "You are like a son to me! I raised you, I deceived you from the evil paths of life! I gave you a roof over your head! And you can't even call me and let me know you're gonna be a father?"

- "Sorry, it all happened so fast, plus I have so many things on my mind. There's usually a lot going on in Seattle."

- "You and Derek did not inform me about your children! My own son adopted the girl, not telling me that I became a grandmother once again!"- she continued

- "Oh, you have to shout at Derek bout me, not at me! I'm sorry for myself, but I think you should shout him out as well as me. Even more so because it's your own son. He deserved it." - I admitted making Derek get in trouble. Exactly like in childhood.

- "About Derek, you don't worry so much anymore. Just let me find him. But let's focus on you now. When did you find out?" - Mrs. Shepherd asked.

- "About a month ago,"- I replied, less stressed.

- "Concluding that Lexie wasn't standing next to you, I don't think it was her who fathered this baby. Am I right?" - Asked certain of her version, which I will not say, scared me a bit. How come moms are always so sure of everything.

- "Yes, you are right ... ..as always. Callie is pregnant with my baby. This is my best friend who I once slept with. But only in a friendly way. Well, we both had a worse time because we were not in relationships then and somehow it turned out that...." - I started explaining, feeling a little awkward because Mrs. Shepherd was like a mom to me.

- "Without details, it would be enough for me to tell with whom .... I know you, Mark, and I know what happens to you. Therefore, I am not surprised by this situation. How will you raise your child? You are not in a relationship with Callie, so you probably do not live together, which can make things more difficult." - she replied, still asking questions.

- "Callie has a girlfriend, Arizona, who will also be present in our child's life. We live opposite each other, we have apartments. Not big ones, but so far they will be enough to raise a child. So we'll probably be spending a lot of time together with our little one."

- "Good, although you are prepared for this aspect,"- she commented, and I gave her a questioning look. I will not say these are strange circumstances of having a child, but we are prepared and we will be. - "Mark don't look at me like that. I know you will be great parents, but it will also be a strange situation for this child as time goes on. If you tell your child that his dad and his friend that is his mom got into it, it will be ... strange."

- "That's why we won't tell. Certainly not that way." - I replied a bit irritated - "I understand that you are worried about me and the baby, but there is nothing to worry about. Me and Callie have known each other for a long time, we trust each other. Same with Arizona. You probably did not think that I would inform you in this way and make you become a grandmother once again. Neither do I. But it happened and I want you to support me now and teach me everything you can. In the end, you gave birth to five children and raised one extra."

- "Sorry, I exaggerated a bit. Of course I will teach you everything and support you. Know that one phone call and the nearest plane is in Seattle with me. I'm proud of you Mark, proud how a mother is proud of her son when he becomes a father. A father that every child dreams of having. Because that's what you'll be." - she said, then hugged me like when I was younger.

- "And you just came here to Seattle on your own?"- I asked, getting out of my embrace.

- "I didn't. I come with Addison. She just had business here in Seattle. Some patient as far as I know. And since I found out about your child from Amelia, I decided to come." - she explained.
