Chapter 12

Meredith Pov:

After returning from work, we organized a small meeting with friends, invited: Cristina and Owen, Mark, Callie and Arizona, of course Kepner, Avery and Alex. Only Lexie was missing. I won't say I started to worry a bit, it was already dark outside and it was raining quite heavily. I knew I shouldn't panic because she has a phone and money, so if something she calls Uber. She could also stay overnight in the hospital. 

- "There is no missing Lexie by chance?" - Hunt asked

- "When we were leaving, she said that she must complete the card on newborns" - I replied - "She should arrive soon"

- "Newborns? I heard you right?" - Arizona asked

- "Yes, she was talking about a patient she helped you with and that she needs to complete the documentation."

- "It's impossible, she hasn't worked with me for almost a month"- the blonde replied

- "Maybe it's a very long time ago."

- "Meredith, I have everything completed in my ward."

- "Uuu three lost confidence"- Cristina commented on the situation.

- "She must have done something in your ward, maybe I heard it wrong."

- "Maybe I shouldn't ask, but Lex and you are all close. How is she holding up?" - asked Sloan a little shyly.

- "How is she supposed to feel?" - Pissed off Alex asked - "You've set her up perfectly and it's not the first time."

- "Karev hold back!" - Jackson advised him, standing beside him.

- "Let him finish, please,"- Mark asked

- "I think that you know very well what you should know, I just want to tell you that you should respect her request. Stay away from her. Because if not, you'll have worse problems than asking how she's doing . If you had so much courage and scruples, you would ask her yourself and not take advantage of us."

- "Anyone want something to drink?" - I asked to lighten the atmosphere

- "And one more thing. Congratulations, Dr. Sloan." - Alex added, less nervous, sitting down next to April.

- "Derek, how's your preparations for surgery next week?" - Owen asked my husband.

- "Okay, today we started practicing with Grey, we didn't manage to do much today, but we will slowly go in better and better direction."

- "That's good "

-" Alex, could you call Lexie where she is because my phone is dead?"- Kepner asked.

Alex took out his phone, dialed my sister's number and we all waited along with the beep.

- "Voicemail is activated"

- "Don't worry too much, I'm sure everything is fine,"- Arizona tried to reassure us.

At this point we heard the sound of the door lock being turned. We saw Lexie soaked in the air.

- "Lexie thank god we were so worried"- I said

- "I said that I would come on foot when I finished what I had to do." - She said taking off her shoes in the hall.

- "What took so long, you said it would take a minute."

- "Mer I told you that I had to complete the card on newborns. You need to start listening to me more closely." - I looked at Robbins and she shrugged.
