Jo Pov:
- "So what is going to be another day without a resident?" - Leah asked as she reached all the rest of the receptionist including me. - "Who will you plead with today to finally learn something?"
- "Don't overdo it,"- I said, irritated by their complaint.
- "And why you Jo suddenly suddenly stopped bothering?" - Shane asked
- "Because if you really wanted to learn something, instead of standing here and complaining about how Hunt did not give us a resident. First, you could claim it yourself. Secondly, you'd start learning something, looking for Attendings to study with. You've got so many surgical stars on your nose, and instead of using it, you do shit." - I replied.
- "Oh yeah, I forgot that you've been sleeping with Karev for two weeks now, who makes sure you have something to do in this hospital,"- Murphy commented, and I wanted to punch her. What does she care with whom and when I meet.
- "She's the busiest when she's in the on-call room,"- Heather added.
- "What the fuck? Why do you care who I sleep with and when? I just want to remind you that you slept with him as well in the first week of your internship." - I replied, biting me like they did - "And Leah I want to remind you that if it weren't for the fact that Mark Sloan's penis excited your mother in her youth, you wouldn't be here at all.
- "Leave my mom alone. At least I have a clean slate to start with." - She replied irritated.
- "All I'm saying is, you'd better get your job by hard work than your mum's old sexual interest will do for you."- I added and saw Murphy already walking towards me to punch me. I laughed in her face, and Stephanie stepped between us to make sure none of them would be hurt.
- "Come on, I don't want you to be my patients right now,"- the dark-skinned said.
- "Maybe we will come back to the topic of who we are licking today?" - The only boy in our group asked.
- "You won't Ross,"- said Hunt seriously, who had just approached us. When each of us noticed him, we all started to improve and pretended that we were doing something. - "I want to ask you, are you deaf?"
- "No, we're not deaf, chief"- Edwards replied confidently, but humbly.
- "You have been paged by your resident on the ER for about 15 minutes." - he informed us.
- "But we don't have a resident,"- Ross replied.
- "Are you the Chief of Surgery or I am?" - asked my friend, what the other one was embarrassed about - "When I say that your resident is waiting for you, it means that you have him and he is waiting for you." - he added, and we were all surprised.
Since we're interns here, we haven't had a resident assigned. There were not enough of them and we had to deal with ourselves somehow. Unfortunately, without a resident, the Attendings don't take you seriously, which makes it very difficult to get surgery. Fortunately, I don't have such a problem, but I know that my friends do.
- "What are you waiting for?" - Hunt asked, already irritated with us - "Run to the ER! Explain your stupidity! And go to work!" - as soon as he said it, we all ran, almost like in some race, to the ER.
We did not know who to look for and who to expect. Will he or she be strict, or will she or he be nice to us, like some residents. We got there and we didn't know what to do with ourselves. We didn't see anyone waiting for us. So we stood at the entrance waiting for something to happen.
- "You have a great sense of time" - we heard behind our backs and immediately turned around - "As if you were receiving pages as quickly as today, instead of living patients, there would be only dead bodies lying on these beds. During these over 15 minutes, I managed to diagnose the appendix, refer the patient to X-ray and stitch up someone's temple."
