Lexie Pov:

Walking down the dark, quiet streets of Seattle, I thought about what I had gotten myself into. I honestly don't know why I agreed. It was spontaneous, and even though I terribly hate the idea of pretending to be a couple, I decided again to leave telling the truth to Mark. Was it a good solution? I cannot answer this question myself. On the one hand, I'm probably doing a good job of giving him a chance to talk to his family about it. But looking at it from the other side, I could just take it into my own hands and get it over with. It would be another closure of this chapter in my life. But it is probably more convenient for me as it is. Or maybe just deep inside I'm not ready to close it all.

It is still so strange that we have completed something so profound in such a short time. It is strange to me that Mark has already opened and started a new relationship. Until recently, I was in Julia's place and I would never have thought that I would be watching him with another woman. I put a lot of time into this relationship, honesty and most importantly love. And to be honest, it is not easy for me to look at all of this.

After a deep deviation from my initial reflections, I arrived at my predetermined spot. We decided to meet a few houses earlier to make it look more believable. I mean Mark made up his mind, I'm just here to help.

Sloan was dressed in a gray shirt with two buttons open at the top, black pants, and elegant shoes. He was probably waiting a while for me, as he was leaning against his car looking at something on his phone. I silently approached from behind and didn't scare him on purpose. - "Little Grey! Are you crazy?" he asked frightened.

- "Easy, old man. Because your heart will fall out of the cage. Hence I can hear his beating!" - I replied jokingly.

- "You will be my age, you will see how hard it is for health. You'd still have to resuscitate me here and we wouldn't have made it for a dinner." - he replied.

- "So if I had to resuscitate you, we don't have to go to dinner? Then you know what I will repeat that note of fear!" - I replied and Mark gave me a serious look. - "I'm kidding! This generation of yours doesn't know how to joke at all! Loosen your pants!"

- "Can we go now? We're almost late." - The brunet said impatiently.

- "If I had my stuff from my room from the house in which I live, I would have been 10 minutes ago!" - I explained myself.

- "And I said that I would pick you up from the hospital and go together, you did not insist that you have to come alone."

- "Cars cause pollution. Sorry, I'm ECO." - I lied to win our exchange of words.

- "Aren't you and a bunch of your friends driving to work and back by car every day?" - he asked sarcastically

- "Do you have to ask so many questions?" - I asked and started walking towards the house, because from the meeting point we still had a little bit of a walk. - "Are you coming, or will you be standing here?"

- "I'm not keeping up with you woman!" - he said and kept pace with me.

- "Let's set the rules ..."- I said after a long moment of silence.

- "Rules? Do you mean for today evening?" - he asked, a bit confused, - "If it's going to make you feel more comfortable then I'm all for it."

- "Thanks, I just don't want to make this evening confuse me again. Please be aware that this is a one-time action and it will never happen again. I agreed because I want to give you a chance to inform your loved ones yourself. Because if I could, I would like you to do it."

- "Sure I get it, what is rule number one?"

- "First, before Mrs. Shepherd leaves Seattle, you tell her about our breakup. Second, we keep affection to a minimum, as little as possible" kissing, hugging, licking, holding hands, and so on." - I started to explain my rules - "Number three: we have to establish the versions of events, how I reacted, what to do next and the rest of the story. Any suggestions?"
