"you remembered"

September 15th. The day of my mother's burial. I wore a brown embroidered dress, the fabric dragging behind my matching red bottom heels as I walked through the grassy land. To my left was Draco, his slender fingers never leaving my overly pale skin. I couldn't bare to cry, not willing to give her the thing she craved most... much like I had craved her affection, she craved my pain. My tears.

"Here lies Lily Francis Young. If we could all share a moment of silence in respect to the kind mother, wife, and daughter." I scoffed, yet still doing as I was told to do. The woman was rarely kind, and when she was it was only for her benefit.

-

"Young, I'm so sorry." It was now the little 'after party' of my mother's funeral, pure bloods from all around the world attending the gruesome event. The place was filled to the brim, just how mother would have wanted it to be which pissed me off even more.

"Don't be sorry, Zabini. She was a manipulative dog anyways." He grinned, trying his best to stay respectful as his mother was watching from a far.

"I have to go, but one of the twins asked me to deliver this to you... I'm only doing it because of the circumstances." I rolled my eyes, as he forcefully shoved me a small pink paper.

Dear little one,

I know we haven't been speaking for quite awhile, but the talk of this war is overbearing. I've heard what has happened and George and I do send our condolences. (Even though we hated the woman just as much as you did.) Don't tell my mother that I wrote that. Anyway, I'm sure you're living in your very own personal hell right now, that's why I'd love to take you on a date. You know where... be there at 5 o'clock sharp.

-Fred Weasley

"A note from Weasley? Let me see." Draco tried to grab the small paper, but I only scoffed as I pushed him away.

"Go look at greengrasses love letters to you instead." He scoffed back.

"What's it say anyway?" I grinned, weirdly glad that he'd asked.

"Well, it seems to me that I have some evening plans to get prepared for."

-

"You remembered." I cheekily grinned at the sound of his voice, always having an odd sensation of butterflies when I was around him.

"You remembered too..." He chuckled.

"I may not be the brightest, but I still know every little detail about you, Young." I blushed, sitting down next to the tall redhead trying my best not to topple off the edge of the astronomy tower and fall to my very own death where I'd be met with my deceased mother once again.

"The skies beautiful tonight." He smirked.

"Just like you..." my cheeks began to burn, as they ached from how much he'd reddened them in such a short amount of time.

"You know," he looked up, watching as I scooted closer to him and connected our eyes. "I wish I was bound to marrying you instead of him, Weasley." He breathed out, not speaking a word and just pulling me deep into his chest.

"I know you do, because I do too." He ran his hands over my head, my soft curls tugging as his fingers slipped through them.

"I love you, Weasley" I sat up, watching as his eyes lightened.

"I love you too, little one."
