"you're cute"
"E, I'm all for body positivity and shit, but what in fuckery is that?" Pansy tried her best to contain her laugh, while I just put on my pearls trying my absolute best to compose myself.
"Well, I'll be attending dinner at the Malfoy's tonight so I have to look my best." She rolled her eyes, and on cue he was knocking at the door.
"Knock, knock girl's." Pansy jumped at the sound of his voice, causing the both of us to burst out laughing at her overly pale face that'd become full of freight.
"I hat-" I cut her off.
"Us both, we know. Love you, P!" She gave me a weird look, but still lovingly replied,
"Love you, E." Her tone was dragged at out and saggy, sounding slightly depressed while she spoke. I couldn't help but giggle as we walked out the door, turning to see Draco's face even more amused than my own.
"What?" He didn't reply, just sticking his hands further into his pockets.
"You're... cute." I blushed, Draco had only called me 'cute' once before in early third year.
"You too." He narrowed his eyes at my reply, scratching the back of his neck.
"Thanks, I guess?" His words seemed like more of a longing than a question, as if he was confused whether I was lying to him or not. Draco's told me a bit about his insecurities, but I sense that he has a lot more locked away somewhere far away. Very far away...

"Draco!" Narcissa stood at the door, almost immediately pulling the two of us into a tight embrace. "Was the trip good?" I smiled, simply nodding at the multi hair colored woman that stood right before us. She smiled back, looking at Draco for approval. He quickly nodded, an annoyed look spreading across his face as he ran up the stairs. "Is something wrong dear?" Narcissa peaked her head up after Draco, but to her surprise he was already gone. I just gave her another reassuring smile, before telling her everything was fine and following the annoyed boy up the stairs to see what his problem was.
"What's your problem, blondie?" He'd been looking out the window, watching as one of the trees had began to fall in the garden. He barely turned his head to look at me, so I decided to talk about something that would catch his attention. "Why'd you call me cute?" He snapped his head to me, his eyes growing to a softer baby blue before they quickly darkened to their natural pitiful dusty gray color. After a few minutes of glares the blondes lips had began to part, well that's until he was rudely interrupted.
"Children..." we were greeted by Lucius, his stern stuck up face turned into a large grin as he made eye contact with me. He'd always taken a liking to me, not in an odd way of course... sort of in a father daughter type of way.
"Elizabeth!" Narcissa pulled me into another hug, the doing giving me much more warmth and joy. She was always so sweet to me, much more than my own mother ever had been. I honestly have no idea how she even dares to tolerate my parents, let alone her own husband. They're all such different types of people compared to her... horrible people.
"Dinner." Lucius spoke loudly, causing Draco and I to share a quick stare. Although, his was definitely more of a glare. His look caused me to roll my eyes, turning to see an odd amount of fear maybe even shame in Cassie's eyes as Lucius dragged her out of the room. She gave us both sorrowful eyes, as Draco stuck his hand in mine, almost immediately interlocking our fingers as we followed shortly behind his parents with our heads held low. No matter if we were mad at each other or not, we always stuck together.
-
"I'm sure you're both curious to why we've brought you home in the middle of the school year..." Lucius was tapping his nails against the table as he spoke, the flames of the fire keeping me from losing my shit from all the agony he'd put under not only by his words, but by the way that he was saying them.
"Well..." my father butted in, my mother sending him a smirk even wider than Draco's usual one.
"We want the two of you to get married!" My mother's face was bitterly sadistic at her blabbed out words, as my father just rolled his eyes from her small doing.
"It's an arranged marriage, unless you can find somebody else by seventh year of course." Narcissa had said the last bit, my face going pale, as my body had felt numb. Draco was my best friend, how could I marry him? This would ruin everything... would it? No, no... it would, right? I began chewing on my nails from the stress, getting an urgent and odd feeling in my gut.
"Excuse me." My heels clicked as I made my way to the bathroom, speeding up as I felt a substance near the back of my throat. I didn't even bother to turn and see who the footsteps behind me belonged to as I ran down the hall.
"Are yo- Bethy." Draco rushed over to me, pulling my hair into a makeshift ponytail as my head dangled over the toilet.
"Just brilliant." He grinned at my words, as I wiped my mouth barely feeling well enough to stand.
"Well then." I washed my hands before exiting, walking straight to the front door and all the way out. I had no idea how to cope with my newly learned information accept for one way and one person... Pansy Parkinson.
