"i love you"
I felt odd, as I'd somehow brought myself to Draco's dormitory. I hadn't remembered walking here, but I could tell that something was off. I bit my lip before twisting the knob, not even bothering to knock. I watched as he jumped off of a girl, the girl being Astoria.
I rolled my eyes at his doing, grabbing her by her green tie and throwing her out the door. "Whore." Draco rose a brow at my words, motioning for me to come over with his fingers.
"Jealous of Greengrass?" My nostrils flared, as my mind began to run around in circles.
"Never that, she'll d-" He cut me off.
"After marriage..." he finished my sentence with a smirk on his face, as I just rolled my eyes at him and pulled myself away from the bed. "Where are you going?" I stopped for a moment, before turning around swiftly to face the boy that I'd loved oh so much.
"Home." As I was about to leave he stopped me, the door slamming shut while the handle was in my grip. His hands surrounded me, as his face inched closer and closer to my own.
"I love you, Elizabeth." I was shocked, he never called me by my full name. His words sent a gust of cold air through my body, as it quickly warmed me when his lips replaced the pure shock on my own. "I love you too, Mal-"
Then I woke up. I hit my head into my pillow, the dream frustrating me beyond explanation. "Why!?!" I cried out, but no tears escaped as I'd began to scream. I then heard the door shut, as running heels clicked over to my side.
"E, what's wrong? E!" Pansy shook me out my trance, my eyes beginning to water.
"I'm sorry, P-" I choked on my own words, as I'd just then realized how broken I really was.
"It's okay, love." She cooed, patting my back as she began to pull me out of bed. "Hogsmeade day is today." I grinned.
-
The train ride was pretty dull, as it was just Pansy and I in our own little compartment today. She'd been telling me about all the bags and things that she'd planned to buy, although I hadn't paid much attention to her nor her words. "E," I then looked up from my lap, realizing that we'd come to a stop. "We're here..." I nodded, stepping out of the small compartment hand in hand with my best friend.
I spotted Blaise almost immediately, as he seemed to have an overly amused look on his face while calling Draco over. "Look, D... your fiancé's found a wi-"
"Finish that sentence I fucking dare you, Zabini." Draco then pushed past them all, snatching my hand somewhere in between it all.
"Draco," he ignored me, as he just continued to drag me through all the shops. "Draco!" He finally turned, only to let out a large breath acting as if nothing had just happened.
"What?" He sent me confused eyes, like he hadn't been luging me along for the past twenty or so minutes.
"Where are we even going, christ." His jaw clenched at my words, but he just bit the inside of my cheek.
"I'll tell you once we're there, trust me, please?" I simply nodded, as he continued to drag me along overly violating the growing pain in my wrist.
-
"Draco!" My mother smiled at the blonde, as she sent me a slightly disgusted look. Her eyes pondered my outfit, as I just wandered the shop. My feet dragged as I looked around Borgin and Burkes, Mrs. Malfoy stumbling through the door as I had barely made my way to the counter.
"Children," Lucius called out to us, his tone oddly calmer than his usual roughhoused one. I turned to face him, as Draco slowly inched up behind me. "Today we've brought you here to do something special... something we've all done once before." My face grew confused, as Draco's went pale. I could see Luciuses smirk through his annoying glares, as I waited patiently to hear more.
"You'll be picking out engagement rings today," Draco slightly huffed, as his fathers face showed nothing but a mischievous little grin. "There's a catch of course..." Lucius sucked on what i'm assuming to be a candy in his mouth, as he looked to me with soft eyes. What can I say, all the Malfoy men had a soft spot for me. "You'll be picking out each other's." I couldn't help my cheeks from shading to a light pink color, as Draco looked to be just about done with the whole situation.
"Remember, you'll be wearing these until seventh year, so pick something that you think the other would like." I nodded, watching as Draco did the same. Narcissa clinged onto her husband's arm, as his head went down leaving a soft kiss on her own. I hadn't seen the man this happy in years...
-
I had found it. After what felt like years of searching, I had found his ring. It was a thin silver band with the smallest green emerald in the center. I grinned, quite proud of what I'd found.
I saw Narcissa hold her hand to her heart from across the room, as the shop worker held what i'm assuming to be a ring up to their entire family. I watched as Draco tapped his foot, something he did when he was either angry or nervous. I secretly hoped that he was just nervous, as I didn't feel like dealing with his angered state right now. He then turned, his eyes instantly locking with mine. I gulped, as he called out my name. "Bethy..." he breathed it out like air, as he said it with such low confidence and softness in his voice. I straightened out my posture, before making my way over.
"Yes?" I kept eye contact as I found my way to the display case, watching as he held up a small gold banded ring with a dainty diamond in the center of it that was as clear as day. My gaze had shifted, as he carefully grabbed my left hand sticking the tiny piece of metal onto my ring finger. I stared at it for a few seconds, before looking up to see he wasn't mad, but he was in fact... nervous.
