Chapter 40

"Hi we have reservations under Josh Hyland." Josh says.
"Ok. Your table is right this way." Josh grabs my hand and I put my head on his shoulder.
"Excited?" He asks.
"Yeah but all the rich kids from college eat here."
"Well don't worry about them." Josh says.
I smile.
We get to the table and all the girls sit on one side and the boys sit across from us.
Josh is in front of me.
"Here are your menus and can I get you guys anything to drink?" The waitress asks. She is eyeing Josh. I look over at him and he grins at me. Everyone orders their drinks.
The resteraunt is really crowded. We are next to so many people.
Josh kicks my leg. I madly look up at him and He motions his head towards behind me.
I look back and see Miranda walking over. I shoot my head back and Josh throws me his jacket. I put it over my stomach.
"Hi Chloe!"
"Hi Miranda!"
"How are you?" She asks.
"I'm good! Yourself?"
"Pretty good actually. Well I've got to run so I will see you later." She says.
I wave as she walks away.
I slouch in my chair and breathe out.
"Who was that?" Paige asks.
"Miranda, she is in my nursing class." I say.
Paige nods.
"She is the girl who has those really awkward, 'hey!' 'How are you' 'Well see you later' conversations.
They all laugh.

"Here is your chicken and rice." The waiter hands me.
"And if you guys need anything else please feel free to ask."
I smile.
We all finish our food and get dessert.
"Well this was a fun night." I say.
"It's not over yet." Josh adds.
He stands up and yells out,
"Excuse me everybody!!"
I look up at him confused. He smiles and looks down at me. I slide down in my seat.
"Hi! I'm Josh Hyland and this Is Chloe Lukaisak! In case you all were wondering Chloe here, is a nurses assistant at children's hospital right down the road. She is going to The amazing Yale university. She was supposed to be in the Yale elite program but turned it down......For love."
I smile.
"Chloe also was valedictorian back at our school in Pennysilvania. She had a 4.5 GPA. Best in the class. And if any of you don't know who I am, I am Josh Hyland. I was somewhat ok in our class. I play hockey and go to university of Conneticut. I am the guy who Chloe never deserved. She deserved so much better. But still, she got stuck with me."
I laugh. Everyone is staring at Josh. Some are smiling some are whispering to their friends. But everyone is listening.
"I am so grateful to call this wonderful, kind, smart, amazingly beautiful human being my girlfriend. That I want to spend the rest of my life with."
A tear falls down my cheek.
"Now don't worry this speech almost over. I just have one more thing to ask."
Josh gets down on one knee and pulls a box out of his jacket.
I put my hand over my mouth.
Paige smiles.
He opens the box and in it is a diamond ring.
"Chloe Lukaisak..........."
